Man, I wanna get this flashlight so badly but I'm going to wait at least until the end of the year in case they launch an updated version now that 21700 cells are becoming more popular. I have the TM26GT since 2016 and it is by far my favorite, most impressive light I own. I'm waiting on this one though, because now that 21700 cells are becoming more popular, I'm thinking they might release a "GT" version of this light with the battery pack being 8 21700 cells instead of 18650's which would make a massive difference in performance & runtime. My P12GT was my EDC but it stopped working and they haven't released a compact replacement that matches it ever since. I just got the MH10S today since it was the closest match in terms of throw and size, but I'm a bit disappointed that they went without the tailcap switch like in my P12GT. Sure, the light tailstands a little more stably than the P12GT but that could also be done to the P12 by just making the tailcap the same by adding the third raised piece as opposed to the two that the P12GT has. If they just updated the P12GT body with the Luminus SST-40-W LED (and perhaps a de-domed version of it) and added the usb-c port, that light would be THE perfect EDC, period. It's the light that started it all for me, and nobody touches Nitecore when it comes to raw performance, LOOKS, technology and innovation. They're #1 in my eyes.

Flashlights should all have a firefly mode. Imagine a 5 lumen mode on this light. 1000 hour runtime would be amazing on a light like this. Thats why i only buy lights with a firefly or moonlight mode.

It's actually useless on the ground, especially in an area where I, and many others live. If you're in a helicopter a "few" hundred feet up, then this might be ok. With what they represented in this video from what I saw, they showed nothing that my Fenix HT18 or other pocket lights wouldn't be able to handle (other than in the chopper, my pocket lights wouldn't be useful there) I wanna see a video of this light being used on the terrain in a manner that it was intended for. That is what would be impressive. Fast clips here and there of a man shining this in high grass or a creek bank isn't selling this light to me. Show me what it is used for and I will consider changing my outlook 🙂 this is way too many lumens and too big of a light for a creek bank or high grass 🤷‍♂️

I love you're flashlight 🔦 s but please add the usb charging port also any way you can add the type c charging port instead. I have the Tm28 looking for my 2nd light this might be it. Maybe add a spacer piece between the battery pack and the head of the flashlight so that would be like 1 -1 1/2 inch longer to add the USB port to charge my cell 🤔 or other electronics. I know you can do it let's make it happen 💪

@@MemphisMojo15s I like nitecore other brands do it. So in a sense nitecore is staying behind on today's technology. Please tell me how any items in life is a disadvantage for you if its purpose is 2 or 3 things in 1. The way I see it I have a large battery pack and I have a flashlight to carry in my backpack why 2 items? I can just bring my flash light with the USB port available. Just my opinion

@@Bigtony1818 I am with you on that. Totally understood for sure. My drawback for a light this size would be the weight and the room it would take up in my bag. I like the light itself and its intended uses, but it just isn't a light for me. Fenix, in a sense, is a little ahead of NC in some areas. I, personally, just prefer Fenix

Not impressed. Here's why. 5200 lumens only throwing 1600 yards and it's supposed to be a long throw light? I like it but I would expect more throw out of a light pumping that many lumens and that big of a head. Would i own it? Well yes, just to say I have it. I figured it would have the throw of at least 2000 yards is all. That's a long throw "flooder" 😂
@groundcontrol6876
@groundcontrol6876 3 жыл бұрын
I think it's more useful to have slightly less throw in order to have more coverage of what it is you're pointing at. If you need to search for something further than 1,500 meters, then you're likely in a helicopter, in which case you'll probably have a much bulkier and heavier HID system for extended searching of insane distances. This flashlight is an absolute masterpiece exactly as it is.

@@groundcontrol6876 my Fenix HT18 throws 1500 lumens 3035 feet. That's perfect for a field here, we just don't have a lot of open spaces within a 40 mile radius. I live in the mountains...1500 lumens with little spill is a perfect masterpiece because the lumen output isn't overpowering and there is little spill so we can use the light to light up any area just fine. The light in this video is only a masterpiece in an area it would be useful, which isn't here. I used to think high lumens or it wouldn't be a good light but I realized it is useless for me in general. Honestly even for here, my lights that are extremely useful are pocket rockets such as my newest to me additions TK35UE, 3200 lumens, TK11 TAC, 1600 lumens, TK16 V2.0, 3100 lumens, all aroumd 1000 feet or less, of throw. Perfect for hunting, night walks, or even a power outage in Walmart or churches, so these are more useful to me. However I do have a TK75 that pushes 4100 lumens that is a tighter hotspot and less spill and it works great here. High lumens, a lot of spill, little throw, especially above 4100, and where I live, is way too much. This light in this video is absolutely useless to me.

@@MemphisMojo15s Then it's just not the light for you, but just because it's useless to you that doesn't mean it's not useful to other people who live or work under different conditions and have different wants and needs :). Agreed, the most useful lights are indeed the pocket rockets, that's why I loved my P12GT so much! I also have an MH10S now since my P12GT died out, maybe a switch failure, I'm not sure as it's old, but I've contacted Nitecore for a repair. The MH10S is nice but I much prefer the P12GT because it had a tighter hotspot, more throw and most importantly a tail-switch. Tail switches are a must for me, and now I know that. They're just way too convenient to give up. When you have a tail switch dedicated to power on/off and also the ability to half press for momentary on, plus the fact that you can instantly find it in complete darkness make it indispensable to me, and then the side switch can be left to be the dedicated mode selector as opposed to being both the power switch and mode selector, which makes it both slower, clumsier, and much harder to find in a timely manner in the dark.
@MemphisMojo15s
@MemphisMojo15s 3 жыл бұрын
@@groundcontrol6876 agreed. Especially in the tail switch! My TK16 V2.0 has the power and mode selection on the tail so that makes it even better for me. I only meant the light was useless for what I need one for. I like the fact it is bright, but I want a light with that many lumens and more throw. That's just me. Sorry your light broke
@groundcontrol6876
@groundcontrol6876 3 жыл бұрын
@@MemphisMojo15s Yeah the P12GT was my baby. The tail switch provides a click to on, or a half press to momentarily turn it on then back off as soon as you ease off the switch. It has a separate button near the head where you can cycle through the modes. A throw of 320 meters at 1k lumens is nothing to scoff at, and it provides enough spill for walking around at night just fine even on the lower modes. Medium is more than enough for most situations. I'm waiting a bit longer before I get this TM39 in case they launch a GT version, where they basically keep the light identical with very small changes to make it throw further. I think GT stands for grand throw and they've done this many times in the past. Maybe they'll do it for this one as well. Both of my favorite lights ever are the GT versions of Nitecore lights. The P12GT and the TM26GT. The TM26GT for its size is just absolutely mind blowing. 3,500 blazing lumens with a very sizeable hotspot and spill and over 700 meters of throw in a light that literally (although very tightly) fits in a pair of jeans pocket. The TM39 would be my first ever BIG flashlight, as the biggest one I own is the TM26GT and it still fits in my pocket so.
