@iamrajeshnat, I agree with you 100% with regard to your observation of interludes having an influence of Maestro ILayaraja. In fact before reading your comments I heard the song twice or thrice to re-confirm myself about this IR influence and I am endorsed by you and I also endorse you. I only feel fortunate enough to live in this time and part of this world and be blessed to hear such great compositions. If possible hear once MSV's assistant Mr.Ananthu's interaction with Ranganathan, from where I happened to come across this song for the first time. Great. My sincere respects to all the legends❤🙏🙏

Imo. சரணத்தில் வரும் இதே மெட்டை சற்று மாற்றி வேகம் கூட்டி தன்னுடைய ஒரு பாட்டின் சரணத்துக்கு உபயோகித்து இருப்பார் ராஜா. பாடல்: பாத கொலுசு பாட்டு பாடி வரும். சரண மெட்டுக்களை ஒப்பிட்டு பார்த்தால் தெரியும்.

MSV connects deeper with SPB with an unheard song ============================================================== CryMusExDiLa , April Edition ,2024 by Rajesh N , 4 mins read MSV -God of Melody(SPB) with few attributes in general and also for this song -------------------------------------- 1. Mellisai Mannar MSV is a tunesmith who gives so many tunes for every song. He is such a maverick at times when he composes ,his musical instrumentalists and singers will even get confused as they had found it difficult to catch up 2. At times he changes so much in jiffy with so many ideas at times the singers and more importantly the conductors will get confused as to what has to stay and what has to be kept out for each song 3. I read somewhere in 1970s or 1980s MSV used to cry coming home and there are anecdotes where he has sobbed and told his wife about the young God OF Melody SPB. 4. Lot of songs of MSV -SPB like Kamban yemanthan, Namma ooru singari , kanA kaanum kangal rendu, kadavul amaithu vaitha medai , unakkena melE ninran, bharathi kannamma all reached our ears but this particular song Nitham Natham was so rare . I am conjecturing the hero was not popular hero and since the year was 1987 this song never reached my or most of (?y)our ears . I never knew this song at all till 5 years when I was told by Sriram Srinivasan from Los Angeles. (Sriram Srinivasan is an extraordinary singer who is best after God of Melody SPB check in soundcloud.com/sriram-srinivasan-1/yaar-thoorigai-srimp3 ) Over to the song few key points ---------------- 5. SPB creates so much of ideas where he catches the composer imagination of tunesmith MSV . When I hear this song I find this tune is based bit like a famous devotional Ayar paadi maaligaiyil . I am conjecturing both this song nitham nittham from movie kootu puzukkal in year 1987 and Ayar paadi mAlligayill that came much before is based on ragam Pahadi . Pahadi is a ghazalish hindustani ragam 6. You should bear the adulterated start by a bit rough voice of MSV , but once the lovely prelude gets over see how God of Melody comes with his aesthetic muse. 7. SPB though not trained in classical has got a lot of classical sense from his father Harikatha artist His imagination is always within the meter of the song. Many musicians at times add their own improvisation like Kishore Kumar but they will miss the beat . When you hear this song hear how many lines god of melody adds his own intonation without disturbing the meter or rhythm of the song. 8. How God of Melody creates space despite density of phrases and how he sings without loosing the melody is a gift of God . In the year before in 1986 MSV also joined with God OF music to jointly tune some songs of mella thirandadhu kathavu. I am conjecturing possibly MSV got some orchestration elaboration ideas from illayaraja. This song is very rich in assortment and elaboration of interludes bit like MSV ideating like Illayaraja with Pulamaipithan writing the loely lyrics In music I have noticed guru -sishya at times blurs, this is an illustration where from Illayaraja-sishya, MSV-guru got some lovely orchestration touches and a bit later I could even hear ARR influences pouring a bit to IR Too. Remember these are just influences and this should not be cheaply dismissed as copy. You will hear very likely for the first time this Nitham Nitham. Hear with the right speaker and do forward to friends .
