The reason you would copy Fractal tokens is that the counters get put on both. This is due to a trick of the wording, where the “it” the card refers to when selecting what to put the counters on gets changed to refer to both tokens created using the effect. This means that with Addict and Nev out, if you would create a 0/0 fractal token and put X +1/+1 counters on it, you get two 0/0s and put X +1/+1 counters on each of them.

they seem to miss the concept that when fractal tokens are copied on creation, the copy enters with the +1/+1 counters as well. Its the same for zaxara's tokens

Yes, to say fractals doesnt make much sense in general is slightly off. Fractals are creatures as well, they double and can get really strong, one of the best examples is paradoxon zone which is a nice card in that deck! But just saying : )

Good to see spitting image being put in its place. That place is in lands decks with life from the Loam, where for 20 mana you can make 3 tokens every turn. Sounds bad, and it is, but as a late game engine you can lock the board up because your opponents can’t play the creatures they topdeck. Never underestimate the power of too much mana doing something unimpactful an impactful amount of times

I preordered the simic deck as soon as the colors were revealed as I figured there is no way the simic deck wouldn't be insane... I am glad I did ! Turns out I have a Koma, Cosmos Serpent that is looking for a home !

My theory with the yearly commander decks is that they aim to include a main theme and a secondary theme in the same deck (hence tokens and counters in this deck), and then they throw in some intentionally suboptimal cards that are...okay at best. Seems like the whole plan is to give two different themes so that the person buying it can pick and zone in on either one but not both, plus cut the mediocre cards for upgrades.

My "Grave Titan" is Manalith. I have no idea why, but for some reason when ever I try to explain that there are over a dozen strictly better cards, everyone always defends it. Even on a budget though there's still a lot of better options and no one listens!

@3:33. - I took the liberty to ask a judge (website) and I believe you're wrong about the token fractal. You can copy the fractal token and make a second one. It's all one instance. The commander replaced create a into create two. Then the counters follow as one sequence. That said, thank you for making the video.

Last night I used the exile board wipe and got myself a 169/169 fractal and my opponent got one about half the power, and without trample anything that makes it unblockable is somewhat of a necessity

I should also say, this deck is my favorite because of the pieces it has for my other decks, I love all the new cards it has. Great video, I was able to pick up all the cards besides the Lands and Altar of dementia for sub 15 € shipment included on CMM. If i were to get the Mill and the Lands i would end up at 25 Bucks, definetely a great pickup.

The deck already exists for Krakens/Sea Creatures with Koma or Arixmethes at the head. It's not a strong deck since it's all "big dumb creatures" but it's definitely strong enough to play and win. It also isn't this deck, but I appreciate that the deck exists and has good synergy with some payoffs now.

Supplant Form is a nice budget answer for things like Blightsteel Collosus plus you get two of your own. Mycoloth makes a ton of tokens and can be a giant threat on its own in this deck. He's also good if you want to go counters. Alter of the Brood is also good for group milling. Counters deck I would add Simic Ascendency, Vorinclex, Vigor, and Helix Pinnacle. The 2k upgrade would have all the goodies.

Another great addition to this deck is Riptide Laboratory. I played at my LGS and there was little point in my opponents targeting Adrix. Seemed just a nice land won me a game. Which brings me to a good point to make. Always run some land hate, ghost quarter or strip mine. Sometimes a good tech land will take games, and lands are hard to answer.

I feel like this deck is pretty good on wincons. Crashing Drawbridge can grant haste for a combat victory, End-Raze Forerunners is a mass pump along with Return of the Wildspeaker, Kessig Cagebreakers can kill players by itself in the late game, and Altar of Dementia fills our obligatory "noncombat" win condition slot

Okay, so I see what they're saying about the signets. There are better options if your looking to do that. There's Thought Vessel, Fellwar Stone, any of the Talismans, arcane signet, any other 2mv rock that comes into play untapped. Signets are filter lands but worse.

Tokens die (go to the graveyard) and then cease to exist. If they never hit the graveyard, cards like Mitotic Slime, Reef Worm, and the new Pest tokens wouldn't do anything. Instead, they all say "token with 'when this creature dies...'"

Kodama's Reach is a good ramp spell for some decks, but having a 4cmc Commander means you want to focus on 2 mana ramp like Nature's Lore and Three Visits.

Commander Mechanic suggests "Biovisionary," which seems like another contingency way to win. If the other guy has too many kill spells then try to at least get enough mana to cast Biovisionary and copy it over four times in one go, and you're set!
