Got this in a 157 and it’s my favorite board I’ve ridden. 175lbs, size 9US boots, nitro team pro bindings with nitro select boots. At first it felt kinda hooky in the tail, but once I figured out how it rides I don’t feel that anymore. If you use that torsional flex while going slow it’s alright. I had an aviator 2.0 156 before this at some point and that definitely rolled between edges a lot easier at slower speeds, but I prefer the alternator cuz of the less stiff section between the feet. If you get a chance try the Ride Berzerker too!

I second this, try a berzerker as well. It's more narrow but very quick edge to edge. Improves skill level and edge awareness but is super stiff between the feet.

I picked up the 162W with a 13 foot. Same waste as my 20 year old Solomon Regulate. Hoping it’s a good replacement.

Nice. I mean 20 years ago my minimum waist width was 25.5. I like wider boards but this should be fine. Let me know how it goes!

Great review. I’m 5’11” and about 185lbs with a size 11.5 boot. What size would you recommend on this board?

I'm on the 162 with 11.5 and 185 pounds. I'm taller, but other than that we're about the same. I wouldn't want it any shorter or narrower but you could go one size down depending on your use and preferences.

Mostly width. It's not a very wide board, even the 162w is narrower than almost every other comparable board I rode. The extra length will give a touch. more stability and float. The 160 would feel a little quicker edge to edge and a little more turny.

That’s a thought. It’s more a feeling of my toes too far over the edge but they aren’t. It’s weird. I should try the detune. I’ve let the mountain do the detuning for a good 20 years now. 😂

Not better or worse just different. More aggressive. More backcountry freestyle and a little less freeride. Flagship floats better. Alternator charges a little harder. The Alternator is kinda like a more directional Aviator 2.0.
