@@aztecducky I've had it running once but I haven't driven it. Need to change it from DSMx to Futaba S-FHSS, get rid of the supercap receiver power for a pair of LiFE cells, rig an air filter, figure out a body solution, replace a servo horn that broke on it.

What's your go to engine for these swaps? I have the turnigy mini nitro buggy, but the one way went bad on the 2nd tank & parts for it are hard to come by. I haven't touched in years but I want to get it running.

Looks like a sh .07 engine, lrp makes a . O7 and I'm sure force makes a . O7 too. The sh .07 isn't the best for reliability and its luck of the sraw if you get a good one but vfm is decent and all parts are available

That is so cool! I am still looking to get into nitro. Would you recommend a new 1/10 scale exceed or cobbling together a used car? I started a thread at rctech.net and they thought used would be the way to go. Any additional advice would be great!

For first time nitro people, I actually recommend Traxxas, something like a Rustler or T-Maxx classic. The EZ start takes a lot of frustration out of the game

@@mininitrorc Looking to spend less than $300. That is why I was looking at Exceed. People on rctech recommended buying a race buggy from someone who buys new each season. I wasn't sure which of those was better.

Then the exceed 1/10 truck is fine, the sh18 engine is pretty robust. It’s also sold as the redcat volcano S30

It looks like you had severe problems with throttle control/driving it on the track; so much time and labor spent to go slower lol? Change it back to electric, you'll be much faster when you can actually control/drive it.

The whole point of this channel is small nitro cars. Electric is superior, but nitro is neat. No doubt this is harder to drive and slower than brushelss. Performance wasn’t the goal. I do these not because they are better, but because they are hard. If you were hoping to find faster vehicles then this isn’t the channel for you.
