I’m not sure I could say which I think is more “fun”. I absolutely love my nitros, especially the 1/8 scales, but they can get tedious occasionally. Electric is very convenient and low maintenance, not to mention powerful with brushless and Lipos and whatnot. I find myself using my electric models more often just due to time limitations from my job, but they do get kind of bland after some time. I run my nitros to change things up when I have time. That and when I get nostalgic over the smell haha

If one wanted to increase the performance at some point, would there be reasonable upgrade engines that would fit in the truck? I looked around quickly and options seem very limited.
@rcdriver4 жыл бұрын
Carlin Early The options for aftermarket .15’s have certainly dwindled. Looks like Novarossi might have one that could work in the chassis. A tuned pipe should also give the engine a small bump in performance. THS looks like they have a pipe that might fit, the 1010R.

@@rcdriver I checked the Novarossi engines on Amainhobbies, will a .28 in that model fit in this chassis? Or will it only fit a .21 maximum. Thanks.
@marcalampi50363 жыл бұрын
For the guy wanting to put in a 28 engine even a 21, I wouldn't recommend that. Too much power. You'd have to get hardened steel Ring and pinion gears 2 set's. That's what I did Year's ago. They are expensive. They were 70 dollars a piece time's 2 set's. Plus upgraded more powerful engine which is get maybe 18. Or more powerful 15 engine. Can get 2 chamber tuned pipe. Also CVC pipe adjusts if they still have those they were great. Also higher nitro fuel or convert to diesel with Davis diesel head more torque. Still decent horse power. Forget superchargers. Get multi port 15 like a 5 port. Rear exhaust engine probably will have slide valve more responsive bottom end. Ops Nova Rossi or OS TZ type engine. There are more powerful side exhaust rotary carb engine's. Also get a Dremel with cutting tools to Port your own engine and stay with same timing on cylinder sleeve. Just round the corners smooth. Don't raise or lower intake port's nor exhaust Port. Be easy with the Dremel tool. It's kinda like a dentist drill. Be prudent, and wise with your engine. Always stay on Rich side of engine tuning. Never store truck or car with fuel still in fuel tank. Good air cleaners and in line fuel filter too. Glue your tires to rims. I'm an old nitro guy. Tons of nitro experience. I recommend OS engine's because good power AND idle tuning. They are durable reliable tuneable and powerful. Don't be afraid to spend money on a good engine. Also HPI makes good engines too. Not to mention Italian engine's. English and German engine's are not bad but (OS engine's) are almost never a wrong or bad engine choice.

I believe if you remove front shaft dog bone you will have 2 wheel drive. If there's a center differencial you'll have to lock the center differencial you can use super glue to do that it works well. However I'd stick to the 4 wheel drive They have better traction turn quicker and they are quicker up to speed. Superior in general. They tend to not be as fast because of extra weight however More drive power engine power will get speed up. I'd recommend leaving 4 wheel drive
