This engine is an awesome example of vintage quality and engineering. - It is an amazing feeling to be able to get this 40+ year old engine running and to be able to share it with everyone. It’s a pretty special thing to do. - Thank you Mike and to everyone for watchn’, commenting and taking this Adventure along with me 💜

Thanks Tega! I have learned so much through the years that, I am just trying to give back a little 💜 - It is so much fun to restore engines and models that may have been going in the trash. There is a great sense of pride in that. - An engine like this one, deserves to be brought back to life 💯 Thanks for watchn’ and for the comment 🔥💪🏻

She has a lot better throttle response than I would have expected. It will be exciting to install the engine into a car at some point for sure. Thanks for Watchn’ Thom 🔥💪🏻

It was a fun process getting her all back up and running again! She is now ready for the Road 💜 - That is not an extreme version of a 2 Stage idle but, it was worth explaining a bit. I am glad that helped you a bit. - A small 2 stage like that (in the vid) may not hurt the engine all that much and you always need to balance efforts. If I had a choice, I would rather have a small 2 stage like that and have a nice crisp throttle response but, don't let it get too bad - The goal is to have a nice throttle response with no 2 stage but, a lot of times it is Carb dependent. As always, Thanks for watchn' Texas 💯

Great Video! A lot of people don't know that the HPI 15fe is a airplane engine with a heavy flywheel, cool you put a different airplane engine in

Thanks for the comment 💟 - Yeah, it’s hard to believe at times but, our Touring car and Nitro truck engine history, started in the air. Shuwa built the 12e originally from their aero version engine and eventually became the first nitro engine in the Great Original Belted HPI RS4. - A full 12e engine build is coming up in a future Adventure. As well as other HPI branded engines Lots more still to come‼️ - I appreciate you and everyone for watchn’ TY

Haven't seen one of those old enya ground engines in a long time, love the test stand! That is a desirable header, I've got one in like a bronze color

A piece of history for sure. I had to get her going again 🩶 Represents a special time in the Nitro hobby and wanted to share it with everyone - I agree Todd, those MIP headers are nice and pretty rare at this point. Do you have a bronze color pipe too? Thanks for watchn’ 💯

I think the AAC liner you have is better than the ABC.

Some Pros and Cons to both styles for sure but, both are pretty good. - I’ll be sharing another Legendary Race Engine with everyone in a future episode. It is a bit more modern and has AAC construction too. - Lots more still to come 🔥💪🏻

No preheat huh? Without true heat cycles with a heat gun above 200, this was an absolute waste. Don’t use this break in method. Run your 6 idle tanks with a preheat of over 200. Keep it at 215 the entire time. Let each one completely cool. Never rev your engine like that at all before your complete 6th tank. It’s a shame to see this kind of break in method. Blip the throttle he calls it as he fully revs it on tank 2. Terrible. Especially with a nice engine like this. It won’t last. Low idle tanks. That’s it

Hi Terry and thanks for taking the time to write a note but, I think there is a little confusion? - I guess the first thing to note is that this is not a new engine and both this vid and the full overview vid of the engine, talks about that ( go to time stamp 24:36 as one example). I also, state that this video is not intended to be/show a formal break-in/ "how to" video (fell free check out 25:48 if you would like) - Also, there is a pre-heat completed on the engine before warming it up ( that process starts at 15:06 and last through 16:55 of this vid). On a formal break-in (which this is not), I personally try to get the temp to about 180-220F - Because this the engine has already been ran before and this vid is the first start after a refresh, we don't really need to treat it as new. I personally just wanted to put a couple tanks of full on the engine to make sure that it has a basic tune and ran properly why allowing the piston to sleeve to have some lubed heat cycles (Formal break-in heat cycles are Not needed in this situation). - I suppose lastly, there are good, better and best (as well as preferences in between) practices for breaking in a engine. I have yet, to do a full break-in vid on my particular process but, for conversation, keeping the engine warped and at 215F ( your example) is not always needed but, it does help the process to to go a little quicker. I personally prefer to treat the first 4 idle takes like a running oil bath. Then an additional 4-8 takes to build heat. This lessons the stress on the internals while still doing formal heat cycles. - It was not shown for time sake but, cool down time and "heat cycles" (down to ambient temp) were completed on this engine just for a a little extra redundancy. I have been performing my particular Break-in method for 20+ years now on tons of engines with success. I have an engine still running for 19 years now with initial internals ( minus bearing swaps - just as an example) I appreciate you watchn'. I felt the need to say Hi and respond to your comment. I hope have a great rest of your day 💜
