If only all videos were as good and clear as this, very informative.

I have a Nitron Race Pro shock on my 09 R1. Very nice product! I’m a fan of the Mt-10.

Can I ask a question , what’s the length in MM , eye to eye length on The MT10 shock you took off . I’m thinking of fitting a R1 shock and was worried about the length 👍😎 thanks for all the heads up . I’ve just ordered some captive wheel spacers . Thanks again .

How tight did you find the dog bone bolts? Just come to do mine and they aren’t budging!
@jaudicedbrow3 жыл бұрын
Mine were okay, but there was a bit of corrosion in there. I got the wife to hold the spanner on the bolt side so that I pay full attention to the nut. Not that it was very tight, just that it's a bit fiddly, particularly when there's not much room in there. Steady as she goes - you don't want to be rounding / shearing one of those off!

I think they are 30-35ft Ilbs

How did you find this? Much improvement in comfort/performance?
@jaudicedbrow2 жыл бұрын
It's an improvement - mainly noticeable in terms of high speed control - it allows you to push on a bit harder on bumpy roads without things getting out of shape. Low speed comfort is better... but it's still a bit 'crashy' to be honest. The reality is that although these shocks cost a chunk of cash, they are still relatively 'budget' in the world of suspension. You get what you pay for, and this is a cost / performance / comfort compromise that I'm okay with.

Mount new shock absorber ant THEN try to do a video on how it goes.? Man COULD have been so nice

I know, what a dumbass, right? Still, it demonstrates that if a doofus like me can fit the shock, anyone can do it.

Amazing. Yeah right, whatever guv'nor!

Hello !! What did you think of the Nitron R1 shock absorber? Was it better than the original? I have a Honda CB1000R 2020 and the rear shock is very bad. The bike keeps throwing me off the seat. I've tried several settings, but there's no way. I'm almost buying an R1 on the Nitron website. Thanks, Guilherme.

Hi Esmeril1, it's a definite improvement over the original. Is it a jaw-dropping, night and day improvement? I would say probably not. But overall, for me it was worth it. The MT10 is notorious for having a crap rear shock. The CBR1000R - not so much. I would suggest taking your bike to a suspension expert and getting it set up for your weight and the type of riding you do (road or track) before forking out several hundred quid for a shock. Good luck.

Just one little thing to try: when you get kicked out of the seat you probably don't have any or really low static sag. So when the bike is standing straight without you on it, you need to be able to pick the tail of the bike up a little bit (just the tail, without the wheel) You can adjust this with the preload setting, which only changes the geometry of the bike, not the hardness of stiffness of the spring just for info😊 There should be some play on there and it shouldn't catapult you. If you only weigh like 60kg with gear and can't get it to work, it might be enough to just change the spring itself. Honds Shock shouldn't be too bad from what I've heard 🤔 Best regards from Germany 😊
