Mel Blanc's screams are available on the WB SFX library. Blanc's stock screams and vocal effects are used less (because the recordings are old and low-quality) but a lot of studios still own the library because it has a lot of great general cartoon sounds and other SFX. Nintendo used sounds from the library in the finished version of Mario 64, and modified versions of the samples still turn up in Nintendo games occasionally, even today.

nitro, if i convince you that tony hawk underground 2 is a collectaton just like mario and banjo would you make a video of it?
@kile18854 жыл бұрын
@@phantomninja6079 Its not just that, the structure of the game is the same as a collection, but instead of collecting an object you get points. You're on a small open level with a bunch of things to do, on a mario game you would do something (like getting to the top of the mountain or bringing the penguin down) and be rewarded with a star, on thug2 each goal gives you a certain amount of points to unlock the next level, you don't need to complete all of them, just enough to go to the next level (just like you don't need all stars in mario). And you do them while you explore the map, they're all on a list on the menu, but you need to find where it is and do it by yourself. I think thug 2 is the one that fits best because in other tony hawk games they give you a timer to do as much as you can in one run, on thug 2 you have unlimited time and you will spend most of it exploring. Thug 1 is also different but it mission based, you need to talk to an npc to activate the mission first, then do it, if a mission is to grind on 5 cars you can't just go there and do it, you need to talk to him and be on the "mission mode", so exploring the map is not as interesting because you are just looking for npcs to tell you what to do, you have no reason to just wonder around. I didn't play american wasteland so I don't know if it's like thug2 too

little correction: Inputs are not only collected in between frames or during a specific moment in delivering a frame to a screen. The inherit lag of 30 fps is because there is less visual information for you as a player to process and new visual information takes longer to appear and not because inputs are collected and recognized at a lower rate. In fact, each button press interrupts a CPU always. Besides that, great review.

Did not expect to hear him say BHVR in this video like it was legit whip lash to hear their name out of nowhere in a video about Frogger

Frogger 2 is truly an underrated game that's really hard to not talk about. I was shocked you didn't initially use the Dreamcast or PC version primarily because they're probably the best ways to go about playing 'em. I hope if someone ever shakes Konami of the license, we can get a GOG version of this or a remake. I'd love to see them utilize the characters in multiplayer in the story. Tank could totally be like E-102 Gamma and initially collect frogs for him but then change to Frogger and Lilie's cause after getting beaten by him before the space stages.

Were you aware that the PC & PS1 versions used early versions of the Dreamcast final music? You can hear slight changes for example with Super Retro Theme and Super Retro Theme (Alternate) on my channel.

I was hoping you’d review this! I never played the first game (or, hell, even the original arcade game) but when I listened to you talk about its flaws, the thing constantly running through my head was, “Swampy’s Revenge does all that *way* better.”

6:30 I'm pretty sure there was also a sound wave when croaking in the first Frogger *on PC.* I remember using it quite a lot to learn which way to go to find the frogs (in that dark maze level especially). How would it even work without a sound wave?

I love how swampy tries to make his own game to outsell frogger’s game that’s such a funny gag

There are actually real life frogs that glide exactly like that! You can find them if you search flying frogs- its more than one species, even! It's really cool, bc it implies that the developers were looking for inspiration from actual frogs and the weird stuff some of them can do.

Oh god, Nitro. I was given The Great Quest as a birthday present from my aunt when I was younger. I played so much Swampy's Revenge on PC that I was excited when I got that. You're going to fucking hate it.
