Thanks, good to get back on my 29, I really never expected for my Toter Bed project to take as long as it did LOL

Hi there , nice project. I'm currently doing a 47 ford truck here in the UK and intend fitting the power steering rack to the axle beam as you have and was pleased to find someone thinking alone the same lines. Could I ask please what facility there is to allow movement between the cab and chassis with regard to the steering shaft the way you have it set out. Does it require another slip joint. Thanks

Hi, both of the bearings coming down the firewall are mounted to the firewall, the cab is mounted directly to the frame with no rubber mounts in between so the movement from cab to frame should be minimal if any, but if there's any movement at all it will be absorbed by the twin bearing mount on the side of the frame, that short shaft that goes through the twin bearing mount can slide forward and backward through those bearings, and of coarse the slip joint that's already mounted to the front of that short shaft will absorb that movement, too, along with the front axle movement.

Awesome Project. Where did you find your outer fenders at. How wide are they?
@nitrostreet-3 жыл бұрын
They're Speedway Motors 1930-31 Ford Model A Fiberglass Rear Fenders, 14 Inches Wide

If you mind me asking where did you get your fiberglass outer fenders?

I got them from Speedway Motors, these are 28-29 Model A rear fenders, I don't remember if I mentioned in this video or not that this is a Model A bed. Looking at the stock Chevy beds I really didn't like the looks of the stock Chevy pickup beds for that year (and this truck was originally a flatbed anyway) Speedway does sell '32 Chevy fenders and I may have to see how close the front fenders are to my '29 because my front fenders are marginal at best.
