Sweet! You did it! The messing around trying to get the synthesis correct was worth it just to see how brilliant these compounds really are. I must say though that the HgNTZ variant is better still( if possible) but obviously bad is that it is mercury based, however it is beastly stuff. It is a monster. The yellow colour of your original NaNTZ is unusual- maybe it’s just that method since mine was crystal white with a very pale yellow beige silver counterpart. Again Nice job! Great to see you still want to make new videos.
@ExplosionsAndFire6 жыл бұрын
AllChemystery it is a very annoying yellow colour that somehow makes it through into all the products. I'm surprised the DBX-1 wasn't bloody yellow as well. But yeah, if I was to do this again I'd make the NaNTz on a bigger scale so I could do the recryst better, and that should clear it up. As for the mercury salt, yeah, I need to get into mercury chemistry but it scares me a little.... It should be fine but goddamn I am messy sometimes and I really should not ever do mercury chemistry messily

@@ExplosionsAndFire I have a quick question: why are silver (I) and copper (I) salts more unstable than alkali metal salts, even though the anion has the exact same charge? Not trying to sound dumb, I'm just curious.
@greggrobinson51164 жыл бұрын
@@oitthegroit1297 My guess is that in general the bonds formed by transition metal salts of these unstable cpds are more covalent in character and therefore better able to stabilize the transition states, which means lower activation energies? How about CNTz or cyanoNTz, ok 5-cyanotetrazole. Given that nitriles are even stronger electron withdrawing groups than nitro groups then we would expect lower stability or lower activation evergy. Which i can see might be undesirable, but you should try it anyway, i reckon you could diazotize the 5-aminotetrazole with sodium nitrite and HCl and then react that with copper copper(I)cyanide which should yield you your desirable material. Just make sure you use a stoichiometric quantity of HCl, dont wanna be making no hydrocyanic acid now do ya.

or imagine it in a thick pipe :( lool. Are firecrackers fast deflagration? I was just reading about it the other day and I never ever knew but apparently some chemists were arguing about how flash powder is a strange composition because it actually does detonate when slightly confined but it's hard to define whether or not its an "explosive" because it produces no gas! They were saying the only byproducts of the reaction are some solids and heat, and its the extremely rapidly released heat which causes the power and report. you should check out this guys channel though... kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipa0mmd5h71sobM

J P I have an I'd love to do more livestreaming. I did do some last year on Extractions&Ire about unboxing some mystery glassware, but the biggest obstacle is my internet speed. I get a maximum of 0.2Mbps upload speed. This meant the Livestream was limited to about 144p and still had frequent interruptions. I don't know a way of improving this. Most of Australia has been getting fiber optic connections, but they don't give it to everyone. My neighbour gets it, but I am just outside the boundry, so they have internet that's likely 100x faster than mine, and mine will remain this slow for years to come.
