I think it's curious that you were worried about youtube stopping you from doing these experiments, and in the end it was your university stopping you.

I think your problem is not the thermite it is that you have it on top of the thing you are trying to catch fire. Put the thing you want to burn above where the heat is! Heat rises and doesn't go down into the titanium underneath. All of the heat is drifting away.

That's awesome! lol I think most good scientists never entirely figure anything out because whenever you put some small piece of the puzzle together, it raises many more questions than you had when you started in the first place. That's just how it is but I think that's also why it's so interesting too. If we knew everything, we'd immediately be bored.

Liquid Oxone is some scary stuff - it makes things burn like there's no tomorrow, along with the fun side effects, one being that Ozone can be rendered very sensitive to shock. Just a hammer blow would be enough to detonate Ozone.

So by this point, over 4 years later, I assume you're hard at work making the Octonitrocubane? You've made Cubane, and you've Nitrated McDonald's, and Octonitrocubane is basically just Nitrated Cubane, so I assume all the hard work is already done!
