It took a real imbecile to use torx bolts on the bell housing. BUT, if you strip one out, removing the bolt is not so hard. You MUST use a very hard and very sharp drill bit. Use a bit that is larger than the bolt. It takes about 1 minute to drill it out. All you do is drill off the bolt to the shoulder, and the shoulder pops off. Leaving enough of the original bolt to grab with your fingers and spin the bolt out when the bell housing is removed.

@@mikedavis199 i wouldnt be so sure, if he is the business owner then probably. if he is employed by someone and making money for them he's going to be between 26-36/hr, and may not have very good bennys if its a small biz. i think guys like him should be worth 100/hr plus as long as their skill is in demand (if they can get it).

Watching you explain and demonstrate what is working in these transmissions is very therapeutic for me at the end of my day. I don;t do transmissions, but I do repair a lot equipment that has been worked on before by self proclaimed experts..

I've built and rebuilt everything else on hundreds of cars & trucks including manual transmission but watching guys that know automatics tear one apart like this is still impressive! I've just never done it, I could of course but this is experience I've never been in the position to gain, I'm lost after 2 minutes 😂😂😂👍 Beautiful!

I like how this guy is talking to 99% of the people looking at this that don’t have a rat’s ass of an idea as to what he’s talking about. Guarantee it took him at least 15 years to learn what he knows about a transmission.

When I watch these transmission videos I'm awe struck. Looks like something that came out of Area 51.

I could tell that was the first time you tore down a 4l60, OMG it really makes ya wonder, how did man/woman, ever figure out how to build one of those...

Man, I work for a company that does aaa, I run light service, with various trucks, but one of them is a ‘13 Chevy 1500, 4.3 with what I assume is a 4L60e, a few months ago, a “pump” went out, it overheated to about 270 according to my coworker, they replace said pump, send it? A couple months later it’s doing well, and I was driving on the interstate, and the radiator started shitting into the trans lines, I limped it about 40 miles and it held around 220-240 degrees, they replaced that, flushed it and gave it back, then I drove it 4 days, babied it, cruise control at 70 and it would run 210-235 degrees then it started going into a limp mode, took away 1st gear and overdrive and finally left me with either 2nd gear or 3rd by itself, moral of the story is, rebuild the whole damn thing the first time or it’s just gonna eat shit on you lol, thanks for reading and I look forward to maybe a couple opinions, meanwhile every ford truck I’ve driven never gave me a hard time maybe a harsh 1-2 shift here and there? But I can’t believe the fragility of a Chevrolet transmission!!!! Lol

Also the chev carries around 30 car batteries and has been run around 200-400 miles a day, 160 on the interstate mostly in the morning and evening
