About 15 years ago i swapped a turbocoupe 2.3 and T5 into a 94 Ranger, that thing was a blast to drive! Had a manual boost controller set at 15psi, it was a fun truck for sure!!

When I first saw that car on it's disaster-ridden trip home, the look reminded me of the 5.0 LX's that the Connecticut State Police had back in those days. Theirs were an odd color blue, but the black rims and dog dish hubcaps gave it the cop look. I live in N.H. still, so if I won it I'd have to do the driving !! Maybe meet up at "Trails" again 🙂. Good to see you two living the good life !! Can't wait for the Coyote build. I was thinking it was gonna be a Maverick though ? Mustang suspension better suited ? You made your black car work though. I had a 2.3 00 with 315 hp on boron parts from eslinger engineering, cam and carburetor header, it was a mini stuck engine from a Santa Maria speedway, I had a 1976 ford courier, round E round truck, stick it was nothing like this ,lol thanks BigAl California

I have nitrous in my 2.3 Mustang, too! ...honestly, was planning to use just due to lack of good converter (stock pinto converter/ GT35 don't work well together), but just a 50 shot down the whole track made me have to put a cage in if I want to run there again

Those cop wheels actually work on that car, my 4 cyl auto steed had 3.89 gears, that one sounds like its more towards 3.08 or so, the 5 speed car may be a 3.89 gear, the axle will withstand a v8 until you put sticky tires on it

2.3 content is cool (but slow 😂). I guess an N/A 2.3 can handle a 50-100 shot. The forged piston turbo short block is probably good for 100-200+ depending on what's done, 400 hp total. The stock turbo might not like it. The A4LD autos are very weak though typically as even the auto Tbird turbocoupes were detuned to 150 hp.

I grew up in mustangs except those 300K mom put on a Fairmont Fatura but mom Loved her 91fox hatch but man that four banger was trash and pissed my parents off..never had any problems with it but the lack of power was real . She got a 94 with a six in it that would give a lot of V8s a run for their money.
