If you're not hooking with the NT555R's, you don't know how to heat them up or you aren't heating them up at all. I ran those on my '98 Z28 for 4 years and went thru 6 pairs of them. I never broke traction and I was running with a 200 shot out of the hole and was hooking. I hooked both son the track and on the street. That car was a low 11 second car in the 1/4. You have to heat ALL drag radials up for them to hook properly.

It's maybe exhaust and something else... atleast in 2004. Gt was 260hp and saleen was like 285hp, 25 hp isn't very much. In 2004 on a mustang that might have been > $1000 but today 25whp on my camaro SS can be done with around $300. Sign of the time? Perhaps.

Nittos are cheep but you will get solid grip no spin at all with Toyo R888r's without a burnout so they last longer. I can pull corners full throttle with just some squeaking. 285's

Cheap? Looking at $800 a set on average and essentially all Nitto does is performance tires. I'd say Toyo's are cheaper, both in price and quality.

I have tried most all of the street tires and they all spin. If you want to cure that problem, get some 15 or 16 inch race star wheels and then get a 275 or wider series Mickey Thompson drag radials. They wear out fast because the rubber is soft. You have to decide what you really want. A harder tire that will spin but get mileage on the tire or a soft tire that won't spin and last a maybe a year.

I had no luck with NT555s on my 650 HP F-Type on 305/30r20s. The OEM PZeros were a bit better. I have MP4Ss on now, they are the best so far, but they still spin like crazy. Going to try R888Rs next, I think they only come in 315s.

275 is too skinny for the rear I have 295 on my Saleen and still breaks them loose easily. I have 265 on front and 295 on the rears.

these 2 tires aren't even the same type of tire. the nt05 is a drag/track tire. the nt555's are amazing street tires. I run 265 35 18 on my 500whp evo and it doesn't spin at all and the rain condition performance is superb. shit I even drive these tires in the snow and they do good.

Of course the NT05s are going to hook better, they're friggin drag radials that are minimum DOT approved for street use, doofus. If you're daily driving the NT05s, 1. ) you're gonna be real sad to find out they wear out 5 times faster than a normal tire, like the 555s and 2.) RIP when it rains.
