Hey Derek!! I don’t think it looks that bad! Maybe for the rear get a bigger side profile/aspect ratio?!? Like a 40 ?! Should close that gap a bit!! They look good imo!
@maicoldfarfan41392 жыл бұрын
The 315/35/17 will definitely give you a gap usually the rear tires goes smaller on side wall cuz the car is dropped more so they do that to not rub but I’m sure if you put a meatier tires on the rear it will clear that gap definitely a 45 or 50 side wall would do
@midnight3472 жыл бұрын
315/35 is the exact same height as stock 275/40 and stock gt and Mach 245/45 size. The aspect ratio is a lower number but the width is a much higher number so it evens out at the same height overall height and sidewall.
@JosephTurner962 жыл бұрын
The rear tire size is fine. The problem is the big 275/40s up front. Go with a 255/40 to get more of a raked look. Also the reason the rear looks smaller than the front is because you have the deep dish rear and stock fronts. The spokes of the wheel are more set in almost giving the illusion that the wheel is smaller. Running a 315/40 or 45 on the rear is gonna look ridiculous and probably rub your fenders if they aren’t rolled. I would change the fronts and lower the car a little more. I recommend h&r supersports or coilovers to dial it right where you want it

I personally love cobra wheels, I have a 95 GT convertible and even tho it had the 5 soft spoke best looking OEM wheels but that's not saying much but I found some decent knock off 95 Cobra R 18x9 chrome wheels I bought 265/35 tires and I also put 1.5" spacers in the rear and 1" spacers on the front and wow total transformation! It looks so badass. Unfortunately I hit a pothole and put a flat spot in the front rim, 35s are not ideal in maine but they look so nice, so I need a rim but after seeing it with these 18x9s I really want a couple 18x10 with the dish for the rears, any tire starting with a 3 are pretty pricey but looking I see a 285/30 pretty affordable. Seems there's waaaay more tire choices for 17" for some reason but I so love the look of 18s. Black rims are the in finish these days and I've seen some dropped murdered out ones with black wheels look pretty sick but i personally don't really care for the black wheel look and Lazer red, white top with those chrome cobra 18s sparkling in the sun looks pretty sexy imo.
@VidTubeWatch2 жыл бұрын
It really doesn't look bad, but I feel your pain. Those rear tires that came with the new rims don't have a lot of life left like you said. Just buy a set of taller tires sooner or later depending on how long you can live with the current set up. I don't know the size of your original rims compared to the new ones, but would the original tires work on the new rims?

The 18” set would definitely look better in my opinion but try a 40 sidewall if you’re going to keep them. Sounds like a very small difference but you will definitely see a difference. My 03 mach1 had 35 sidewalls and my buddys 04 gt had 40 and it was a huge difference looking at em next to eachother. And if that wheel gap still doesn’t go away maybe try take out the rear spring isolators and just wrap the top and bottom of the springs with electrical tape to ensure no creaky noises. That should give u maybe a quarter to half an inch too.

On my sn95 I ran a 305 40 17 look fine filled all wheel gap
@philthyss2 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t look bad I’d run a 40 sidewall in the rear and I’d throw the fronts on too looks a little off with the fronts not being deep dish
@jamesfair79112 жыл бұрын
You need a taller sidewall my guy. The rear wheel is wider then the front so that will help.

Factory wheels look the best! Keep the factory spec wheels with a drag wheel setup to switch to

Won’t the suspension drop after it sits for a hood bit?

It should!

Just cut the end of the axles flush for the center cap to fit. Doesn’t hurt anything , everyone does it with their cobra.
@mackm10462 жыл бұрын
Just a little taller tire on the back maybe. Looks good tho
@midnight3472 жыл бұрын
LOWER the car more! The tire setup is as it should be 315/35 is the same height as 275/40 just wider. It just needs to be lowered more go coilovers and slam it they don't make good drop springs for cobras. Those springs are not low enough that is why you have a big gap.
@DerekBaranProductions2 жыл бұрын
Might look into some coils!
@midnight3472 жыл бұрын
Also the deep dish terminator style wheels don't look that good imo. Better off with a stock style 10.5 inch wheel imo. Deep dish looks good on these cars just not that style wheel.

Drive it around the block and see if it lowers any. But it might just need a meaty rear tire, like 315/40 or 315/45
@midnight3472 жыл бұрын
They don't make those sizes in 17. 315/35 is same height as 275/40 which is what they come with stock. If he wants the rear tire tire to be taller than the front he's gonna have to go lower profile on the front. Best thing to do is lower the damn thing and get ride of the gap that way. 315/35 and 275/40 is a proven 17 inch staggered combo for these cars. Same height on rear just wider. It is crazy how many people don't know that much about tire sizing and how it works. People see 35 they think that means less sidewall than 40.....that only works if they're the same width.

True!!!
@brandonburchell82 жыл бұрын
@@midnight347 bruh I know how tire sizing works. The second number is a ratio (percentage) of the first number (the width) for the sidewall height
@Blueovalnation2 жыл бұрын
What?!? Those look way better except the wheel gap, you either need to go lower in rear or a bigger tire, super simple, looks way more aggressive
@natethegreatog2 жыл бұрын
Go to a 45 height tire size fill the gap a little bit more
