Remember hearing this song on "underground" FM stations in the early 70's. The lyrics "I'll remember sparrows but by then they'll never miss them" struck me as prophetic and have stuck with me all these years.

Got lessons from him years ago. Changed my guitar life. Most amazing guitar lessons I ever had. It was a jam session, I learned so much playing on the edge of my ability. I’m so great full. Thank you Johnny I hope you’re doing well. ❤️

This song plays a prominent role in the book “In Silent Graves” by Gary Braunbeck. Excellent excellent song and excellent book!

I always love this song, was with him when he wrote this, we were married for many years in the late 60s and during the 70s, he was a master guitarist and song writers. Actually he wrote this soon after we saw Silent Running, he was so underestimated during his time.
