I came to the Lord through reading the Living Bible 50 years ago. Apparently some people are saying that it is not a good version of the Bible. it told me what i needed to know to get saved. I now own several bibles, all different versions. If you dont like that version that David is reading, dont listen to it. At one stage i was attending a legalistic church that investigated every area of Christian life to see if what we were doing or believing was EXACTLY RIGHT. I left that church eventually because i almost lost hope because there were do many does or don'ts. I find this very encouraging and soothing to listen to in the evening. Thank you do much David. As a scholar of the Bible and its translations I must say that the King James Bible is not true to the original Greek and Hebrew and takes liberties with the original intended meanings. The Jerome Bible (St. Jerome) was the first translation of the extant Scriptures contained within the Latin Vulgate. I personally am partial to the RSV Bible (Revised Standard Version) not readily available these days but I still have a tattered and worn copy from my younger years in the 1970’s. The most accurate version of the Bible is the Douay Rheims Bible as it stays true to the original meanings of the Greek and Hebrew while leaving blank whenever necessary due to lack of clear intention. Do your own research though and be filled with the spirit of the living God. Peace to you all!
