Lyla Dupuy I just got it a few days ago and it is every bit as amazing as she said. I got the NKJV just cause it’s the one I grew up with and the one my church uses and it is amazing. My daughter is getting an NIV cause her church uses that one. It’s a great Bible and I am so glad that I went ahead and got one. The charts and illustrations are fascinating 🌹

A Helpful Creation Had I known it was available in the NKJV when I got this one I’d have opted for the NKJV but I’ll probably buy one and gift this one to a friend. It’s definitely not lacking in illustrations. It has some very unique content that I’ve never seen in a Bible before. I think you’ll love it. It’s hard to put down once you pick it up. Fantastic in depth review - thank you. One of the reasons I am going to try and get this one (and it seems to be out of print now), is because Dr Michael Heiser (dec'd) was involved in some of the editing. That guy's deep understanding of the old testament as shown in his books deserves another wow moment.

I’ve got the hardcover in NKJV and have this cover for my wife (in NIV) but I don’t recall if hers is indexed or not, she never lets me near it, it’s her main Bible and she loves it. I absolutely love your reviews! I ordered this in the NKJV at Christianbook.com because they had a great sale price on the bonded leather (and it's so pretty too) and I had a gift card balance. Gotta love those gift cards. I told them you post reviews on their site and that you do the youtube video reviews and that was why I was purchasing. I love that you show enough that it informs the viewer so they can purchase wisely. I love those print excerpts that book sites offer, but it doesn't really give the kind of info your videos offer. And yes, I have a lengthy wishlist due to watching so many of your videos :-) Thanks!

I've looked at several review channels but yours is the one I subscribe to and enjoy. Have you noticed how the page edges look on the NKJV bonded leather edition? I noticed on someone's review on KZbin and you can't really tell from the pages at the seller sites, but I've never seen such an affordable Bible with that reddish/pink tone under the gilt. I confess I probably should have gotten the hardcover due to cost, but I truly think this is going to be my go-to Bible for a long time so I splurged & got the bonded leather. I'm going to have to see how you change ribbons though. I'd love to have more than those 2 thin ribbons in it. I'm just so impressed with all the information & articles. I have other NKJV Bibles but nothing that compares with the information this one offers. Sorry, I'm such a Bible junkie and I get wordy. I've never commented anywhere here but I had to tell you how much I appreciate your videos and the efforts you put into them. God bless!

I think you made the right choice in going with the one you like because once you get it you'll fall in love with it! It is so hard to put down once you pick it up and I just love a Bible with gilded page edges. A Bible that you will use and enjoy and grow with is definitely worth the splurge. Ribbon changing is not hard, I'd start with an inexpensive Bible and just go slow and take your time. Hobby Lobby has nice double satin ribbons and a wide variety of colors, also make sure they're longer than you want so when you trim the ends if you mess up there's plenty of length still to make a clean cut. There are some videos here on KZbin about changing ribbons. I think thick Study Bibles should have at least 3 but I always like 4 in my Bibles if the thickness of the Bible can take it...Thank you again for watching and commenting and don't ever apologize with being wordy, I love it! Getting comments from people that are excited about the Bible is a blessing.

Kay Martinez yeay Weds is right around the corner! That will be a fun box to open up! Nelson is definitely headed in the right direction. The Open Bible they just did this year NKJV in April and the KJV in August both have 3 ribbons and they’re the wider ribbons and 3 different colors which is awesome. They’re listening to their customers. SA Tabernacle and Beau Tate both have good videos on changing ribbons so do a search on KZbin and look for ribbon change videos by those two and once you’ve watched both you’ll feel a lot more comfortable with changing them.

Excellent, excellent review...not that I expected any less! As always, you never disappoint! The first time I saw that infographic of the Ancient Hebrew Conception of the Universe I was already hooked! Then I noticed all the word studies! 😉 I also had no idea whatsoever how absolutely HORRIBLE those Roman prisons must've been for Peter and Paul! Horrific! A big drawing card was the millennial view chart! I've never seen that anywhere before! I have a lot of eschatological notes but it's nice to have all that information in a chart! Also like the cutaway of Noah's ark. I've never seen it in such detail as to what was on each floor etc. I've never seen an infographic of the creation like this! Wondered why there was a silhouette on so many infographics, which you shed a light on for me! 😉 Makes total sense to have that ratio comparison. I love the maps! Someone had commented that they thought the colors were too pale but I've found so often the colors can be so dark you can't read the information so I think they made a great choice! I'm sure I'm forgetting something but there's so many good things in this Bible I don't know how you could decide what to choose to highlight but as always you did A FANTASTIC job! 👍 I've seen several reviews but none that were so detailed, which I expected from you and really appreciate. That was an astonishing video as per usual. This really is an awesome one. I picked the NKJV and it's filled with all sorts of interesting stuff. I had saved up some money and at the time it was on sales at Christianbook.com for $35, so I didnt want to miss the sale. That's how I get bibles😁. I'm not a great fan of study bibles to be honest, I much prefer a reference bible or just a straight reader, but this one is quite different, so I thought I'd get it, it the only study bible that I have. I just need to save some more to get the open Bible. I have the free copy of Logos Bible software so seen some of graphics, but never seen nor heard of them in an actual Bible before, the word studies are awesome, the time lines, family trees, comparisons, just a beautiful Bible reviewed by an awesome and beautiful person. My only gripe is that there is only one ribbon marker, for a Bible this size, there should have been at least three. Really love your videos. Thanks for uploading videos like these. PS. If you have, can you do a review of the Nkjv Open Bible leather soft? I want one but can't afford the genuine leather, but I'm not sure how they are.

Edward Graham yeah this one has some awesome charts, timelines and illustrations. There’s so much in this one that I’ve never seen before. They did a great job on it. And I agree that a Bible this size should have more ribbons. Minimum of 2 but when I add ribbons depending on the size of the Bible I’ll do 3 or 4. I don’t have a leathersoft Open Bible but I’ve got some reviews of other leathersoft editions that are new and I’ve been super impressed with the new leathersofts, they’re very nice! I’ve got some NKJV videos with those covers and they’re nice! I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one at all. The Open Bible is a great Bible too. Tons of references. My first study Bible was a Zondervan NIV. Seems like a nice one to have. I'm wondering if the leather soft would last longer than bonded leather. I've worn out a few bonded leathers, which my NIV study Bible was.

Well that is an amazing Bible with a lot of work put into it. It still really gets me that they put notes in seven point but you say that it is easy to read so I hope so. Hi..love the review.. i've been thinking to buy my very 1st study Bible, and i'm confuse to choose between this or the NLT illustrated study Bible.. do you have any suggestion?

They’re both amazing Bibles. This one is a sewn binding and the NLT is a glued binding so if you’re planning on using it a lot or if you’re going to take it with you to church or anyplace else I’d opt for this one since it it sewn. The only drawback to the NLT illustrated one is that it’s a glued binding but if you’re planning on keeping it at home and being a little more careful with it then I would go with which translation you like the best. Or if your church uses one of the translations then I’d get that translation so that you’re studying from the same one you’re used to hearing in church. I hope that helps. Personally I am more drawn to this Bible than the LASB. I think it’s because of all the full color content that I find to be very engaging. The LASB editions are great Bibles but I have used this one much more and the illustrations are really neat and are a great way of learning cause you associate the image with what you’re reading about. I don’t think you could go wrong with this one. It’s also available in the NKJV. I have given them to several new believers and they absolutely love them. And I reach for this one more than my LASB. I haven’t seen one of the non illustrated Faithlife ones. This one has some of the most unique illustrations I have seen in any Bible and they also make it in the NKJV as well. It’s a very neat Bible. I prefer ones with illustrations/full color because I think they’re much more engaging.

I received my NKJV version today from ebay and altho it looks very interesting there are 5 locations in which the tabs have stuck pages together, which is unacceptable. I've reached out to the seller so I'll see what happens. Wish there was a way to add attachments to the comments here so I could show you. Keri, I was wondering if you ran into anything like this? I would assume not or you would've said something knowing your candor and integrity. I did notice there was one review on Amazon that alluded to this very issue but I discounted it as out of the ordinary. This has left me a bit disillusioned as this is not the typical quality you'd expect from Thomas Nelson. So now I wait for the seller's response.

pianist4him I haven’t had any issues with any from Nelson, but I’m sure they’d probably swap it out under warranty for you. I usually only experience pages sticking from the gilding which is to be expected but I’d be disappointed if the tab stickers weren’t placed right and caused the pages to stick. If the seller doesn’t work it out with you I’d reach out to Nelson and maybe email them some photos of it. I’ve got a lot of Bibles with tabs and haven’t had any problems. Please let me know if they resolve the issue for you. That’s a bummer that it arrived like that. Keep me posted.

My nkjv came today and I have to say wow factor this is way way better than Nelson full color study Bible and it has more names of God and love how they bold print the Greek and heBREW in the foot notes love how they list the ladies in Jesus time the red letter is done very well and it's as thick as the life application study Bible igot Coral leather touch the notes are readable than the csb notes zondervan does better on the notes

I have a question: Is "NIV Faithlife Illustrated Study Bible" put together by the same general editor as "The Charles F. Stanley Life Principles Bible"? In other words, is it a Charles Stanley Bible?

That I’m not sure. I have a review of the Charles Stanley one so if you watched that one compared to this one you should be able to tell if there are similarities but I don’t recall much full color content in the Charles Stanley one but it’s been a while since I reviewed it and it was gifted to someone shortly afterwards so I don’t have it to look at the contributors in it.

Still miss the 84 edition, still will not use the 2011 update and probably never will. Found me a used 84 edition last yr, and now the nasb is gone to crap. Better buy me a few more of the 77 editions cuz i wont use the 2020 edition. they're just doin the same thing zondervan did. Such a shame. If this keeps up i may go kjv only, and i can't stand kjv onlyist.

It would be perfect for a 15yr old. The illustrations in this one are really unique and are ones I’ve never seen in any other Bible.
