Great info again, thanks mate. One request: please be kinder to the enter key 🙏 The smash is intense in that mic setup, a lot louder then your voice.

Appreciate the video. Kind of beyond my knowledge skill of Linux but looking forward to diving into Nix shells eventually.

In the end, why did foobar output print through figlet?
@dlahouss2 жыл бұрын
at 8:51, you can see that the foobar script echos to figlet. It is not in his example on the left.

How does configuration files work in shells? Will i always pull from the users directory. Or can you have unique configs for each shell?
@wilfridtaylor2 жыл бұрын
Basically it works by letting you select a series of packages and making them available to in your current sessions path. So you have unique configs for each shell but you are limited in what you can do in the shell. Like you can't make use of nixos configuration modules to change things. You can however create your own modules and use those in a shell. An example of how to do this is in github.com/wiltaylor/neovim-flake

Just a bit of constructive critique. You content is appreciated and very useful, but the problems with sound quality make it hard to listen to and extract value from. The keyboard noise is louder than your voice. Also if you can enunciate better it be much easier to understand. Cheers.
