An amazing watch, I definitely agree. Its very well built and strong, but the screen scratches easily and I would definitely recommend use of a screen protection material. Another issue is that unlike my G-Shock, parts are not so readily available. For the Casio I can buy seals and even a replacement casing including buttons, this is not possible with Nixon watches, although they do a send off service/repair option. But all that said, its still a very strong watch and has quite a unique look - industrial and kind of sci-fi futuristic

How much does this version cost? A nice watch with a great light feature. But when I was in the military, I always went for a $20 Timex Ironman or simple Casio. I just wanted something that was easy to read, had a light, & was fairly inexpensive. I never even had a G-Shock because I considered them too expensive for my needs.

They have some very interesting looking watches. I guess they are a fashion brand because they don’t make their own watches. If they look good and they work well, what more can you ask for. 🤷🏻‍♂️. I really like their Re Run. It an all steel digital. Casio would charge $250 for the same watch. Thanks for the great review!

True, at the end of the day if the watch works, feels, and looks good then who TF cares what category it's in. I've got 5 Nixon watches in my collections and they've all exceeded my expectations.

Sadly this model seems unavailable in new condition, and the price for the used ones don’t make sense for such a basic watch. I really liked this because of that reflective lcd background but companies discontinue coolest products for no good reason and keep producing boring ones. Missed business opportunity for nixon tbh, gonna go mod my g shock with reflective background.

It wears bigger than the dimentions suggest because the watch is thick and it's a 24mm lug width. I have a SS and I think it would wear a lot better if I put it on a nylon band rather than a heavy bracelet.

The SS version is cool. Probably not the most practical variant for what it was intended for.

Did you put the NATO strap on it? How tough was that to do?

If you don't have some kind of vice it can be a royal pain in the ass because you have to unscrew from both sides and the torque applied in opposite directions makes it really difficult to control. Other than that, it's simple enough; just two small flat head screwdrivers.

it's not bad field miltary thingy for a newbie, maybe some AR coating wouldn't be bad, smaller size would be very good, those stupid decorative screws should disappear, whole case should be made in one piece, some good old springbars should be there instead of some stupid screws again, the accuracy of chinese movement (I got no clue why they call it movement since nothing moves inside) is a bit questionable to me, and it should be disposable, like a disposable lighter, like a field soldier. That thing is made for a category that didn't exist in the last century, that's a military fashion guy....in my time soldiers was a machines ready to die, not a fashion gurus 😀 good video Sim

@termit520 interesting take. Springbars aren't as ideal as these lugs and Chinese quartz crystals vibrate almost exactly the same as any other. The features and layout are hard to beat in the field.

I own this watch and the only thing I really don’t like about it, is the date display. The watch displays the day of the week and the month in large font. Who needs to know it’s Friday August, for example, I’d rather the emphasis was on it, being Friday 23.

I have a Nixon mk-1, and I love it. However, I think the regulus is better for Mil / first responders. From everything I've seen in person and online it looks like it has a slightly recessed display. My mk-1 does not and I scratched it not too long after getting it.
