I spent so much time editing this video, so that I got used to the city and it began to look usual for me. And I didn’t expect to see so many comments about how beautiful the city is! It made me to look at NN with a new look, it’s indeed very beautiful and I’m glad I visited it. Even miss it now despite my negative conclusions at the end :D Thank you for your warm comments! P.s. Those who say that at 2:08 is not a VIP place, you are just jealous!

Some very attractive parts of the city like the Chkalov staircase, mini Kremlin and Bolshaia Pokrovskaia Street. And of course you showed us a glimpse of the more drab areas too to give the full picture as always. I can tell many places like the cable car crossing over the river would look even more impressive with blue skies.

As an anglichanin tourist with only some small experience of Russian cities outside of Moscow and Peter I would say that this was my favourite city that I visited. Again, I have only visited Western Russia, Europe side of the Urals, but Nizhny Novgorod was a beautiful gem of a city that I was not aware of until I went for the Football World Cup in 2018. With such historic streets, the amazing Kremlin, and beautiful sunset at the junction of the two rivers - it sort of reminded me of Kalamagden Fortress in Belgrade Serbia but not quite as old - as the sun was going down there were some spectacular views. Easy to get around with the metro, lots to see and do, eat and drink and party for young people. Excellent video about an excellent city. I hope more simple tourists such as me get to visit.

@@nole8923 Absolutely true. Natasha is just so much fun to watch. Who would admit they got on the wrong bus three times in a day...or failed their drivers exam multiple times ! "Whimsical" is one word to describe her choice of subject material. On the other hand she finds some very interesting subjects like historical places to visit. She's just a delight to watch and imo she is really beautiful...the face of an angel. 😍💖🌹And I hope NObody ever says she is too slender and needs to "eat a cheeseburger" Абсолютно верно.

Loving these awkward situations, like dealing with the broken ‘VIP’ ticket. And you point out things: “I want to roll down that hill” - which clearly looked like falling off an edge of a grassy cliff! I especially love the really meaningless details that you share because they are more interesting to everyone, as well. You are way more entertaining than any boring professional tour guide’s video. Living vicariously through these wacky and adorable vlogs brings pure joy to what are otherwise dreadfully boring, tedious times - especially because many of us watching you are not allowed to travel anywhere fun - or at all - nowadays.

Thanks for the video. 4:57 The Oka river divides NiNo into two parts, not the Volga. Volga just flows by, Oka is flowing into it. Only the upper part used to be Nizhny Novgorod until 1927 when both parts joined. It has almost all universities, research centers and theatres. The lower part territory closer to the confluence of Oka and Volga used to be the Nizhny Novgorod Trade Fair area. Two thirds of local populace lives in the lower part as it is the industrial part with lots of factories, automobile plant, large Sormovo shipyard, MiG factory, chemical processing etc. In brief, the local economy is a big exception to the usual Russian regional economies: it consists only of manufacturing and processing industries, almost no raw material deposits and subsequent production.

The covered road signs are necessary because the introduction of legal orders to restrict cars from entering the pedestrian sidewalk will come into effect on a certain date. The new traffic restriction cannot be displayed until the legal orders are active. The traffic bollards (pawns with no chessboard) are part of the same restriction - some physical restraint to back up the legal orders. I like the visual effect of the reflection in the train window. Looks like it is getting colder. Nizhny Novgorod might have to be in the list of places to see. When you live in a big city you forget there are smaller cities. In big cities the economy is bigger and there is more money floating around. I noticed that when I was travelling in Southern France, Spain and Portugal many years ago too. I think the slower economy adds to their charm, the city has to renovate old buildings and keep as much as it can, it encapsulates a feeling of the past but in a flavour that reflects it's own history.
