Looks like you found some great pods of fish and a great time. I personally do not bring a fish over the rail and let it bruise the carp out of itself on the deck when I plan on a release. Leave the fish in the water and use a shaker bar. It is easy to use once you get the hang of using one.

Another week of porgies and schoolie blues and I'll be redoing my rods for the fall striper run and blues. Mostly surfcasting open beach. Can't decide between braid and mono (again). For a 30 lb fish, there is no way that 40lb braid will snap right?

What lures do u recommend for night fishing off Montauk in late August?
@ChrisMcIntee5 жыл бұрын
check out surfcasters journal they have plenty of vids of what lures to use out there. bucktails, darters and 7"-10" weightless or lightly weighted black soft plastics are generally good for stripers anywhere you go.. I never fish montauk so I really cant say. fishaholic might also be a good person to ask.
