Lol the Luke Hughes end to end goal instantly came to mind as a goal of the year. The Star Wars "throne room" music to follow is the best... RIP Mcleod 😮‍💨. And that Timo bull self soccer backhander was incredible. I thought of the same three goals.

@djentleman7 They were the beauties of the year. The Luke end to end was incredible. Hopefully we see a lot more of that from him next year, in conjunction with better play in our end. He is going to be a great one I think, as is Nemec. "The future is bright". I needed to give the win to Timo, that goal just has all the elements of a POWER forward. TIMO TIME!

Nice episode. Hope all devils fans are following the quest for the Kelly cup playoffs and supporting the Adirondack Thunder Poulter, who came up to NJ a few times this year pitched a shutout last night in great gritty win. The team moves players up and down during playoffs so it’s always great to watch guys fighting for their careers Passion is fantastic

Jeremy was their main 1A during the year. A real fan favorite and good guy. If they can keep winning he will earn plenty of starts. If you watch his highlights from the year you will immediately see the similarities to his dad’s style. The stab, the leg flails. It’s great fun for us older fans who were spoiled for 20 years lol

Good choices, I guessed a few of them as you went thru the list. Only thing I would change is the Assist of the year. I’d flip them. Other than that, some were obvious like the SS game and others were worthy winners. Especially Bratt being MVP and Unsung Hero being Lazar. I believe Lazar is our most important non star/goalie player on the Devils. He does everything asked and puts his body on the line for blocked shots. I met Lazar at a signing this past season and he seemed very friendly and easy going, just like his interviews. Lazar and Smith are my favorite players on the team to be honest. The core guys are fun to watch and are the main draw, but I’ve always appreciated what the grinders and shot blockers do for the team. May not be as exciting as watching the Hughes Bros do there thing, but they are as important as the exciting players. Off topic: 1. Glad(not) the NHL made it as hard as possible to watch the Playoffs. :/ 2. Pissed Purple eyes scored a goal yesterday. 3. John MacLean’s son, Kyle, looks like he is going to be a decent NHL’er. (Undrafted)

@TravelinDevil76 I went back and forth with a couple of them. That Bratt maneuver was just so sweet. But they were both things of beauty. Lazar is THE MAN. I like Smith a lot as well, I do not think he will be back next season. The role players are definitely important for any team. Is it hard to watch the playoffs?!? I do not have traditional cable, and have like 13 different streaming platforms, so I was able to find the games pretty easily. As much as I hate Rempe, I love him as well. He is bringing old time hockey back singlehandedly. Teams will take notice. These types of momentum swinging players STILL HAVE A ROLE IN TODAY'S GAME. Hopefully we see the Devils look BEYOND just the Analytics, and realize what elements are needed for the playoffs. I was rooting for Mac's kid to stick around. It is a great underdog story.

This trade idea just dawned on me: Daws and 1st Round Pick for Brady Tkachuk? I'm new this season so Idrk how good of a deal this is but Ottawa was the only team with worse goaltending than us and according to you Tkachuk would be really good for us. Thoughts? And yes, DAWS. I want them to keep Akira as you know 😭 and Daws played "better" than Akira did this year (not by the stats though believe it or not. Akira was just above Daws for the majority of the time in stats)

Speaking of fourth line , how it’s very important setting the tone I just remember last year playoffs that bmw line even started a game if I remember , hard to replace that line they were the work horses

@michaelmiranda3023 The BMW line was great. In order to make deep playoff runs, you need DEPTH. 4th lines are crucial. It has already been evident in this year's playoffs after the first 2 days, In 1995 the Devils had the ultimate 4th line, the CRASH LINE. The 2000 and 2003 Devils had solid 4th lines. Even in 2012, the Devils went to the Finals with Gionta (Stephen), Bernier and Ryan Carter as the 4th line. They were excellent in that role as well. Our bottom 6 needs some help for sure. McLeod was a massive loss.
