Reasons why Fitz should be fired: 1) Zadarov was practically given away for free from Flames to Canucks. He is exactly what Devils needed and it was clear before that trade was made. Zadarov is playing excellent in the playoffs and clearly should have been brought to Devils 2) Goaltending was a clear issue in November and Fitz did nothing. He’s an idiot, period. 3) Ruff clearly had no grip on this team in November and Timo Meier was never utilized properly. Fitz and Ruff should have been scrutinized at that time (I brought it up but no one else did except for Runninwiththeevils pod and myself) 3) Fitz let Markstrom trade slip - he should have given whatever Calgary was changing in the deal. 4) Fitz does not have the balls to trade Bratt, Mercer, Holtz and completely transform this team. I really hope I am wrong on #4…

Interesting that this is supposed to be the best hockey podcast and they just suggested Brady Tkachuk and Thomas Chabot for Simon Nemec and Alexander Holtz, which is just ridiculous on so many levels. The Devils would be taking on $16.2 million in cap space and not shedding a contract? Not to mention, like they said, how lopsided that deal would be for NJ. Say what you want about Chabot but if he's your third-best defenseman, that's a plus. If we're talking Tkachuk to NJ, Dawson Mercer, Simon Nemec and the No. 10 pick is probably where Ottawa should start. One of Nemec and Seamus Casey likely has to be traded due to roster and salary cap constraints. Devils fans wouldn't want to hear this but Nico Hischier makes sense in a deal for Tkachuk. Pretty sure those two also hate each other, so may be tough on the same team. Maybe the Devils can send back Ondrej Palat if they are going to include an NHL player in Mercer along with a top D prospect in Nemec, plus a top-10 pick. Of course you'd want to keep Nico and add Tkachuk but you could also deal Hischier, sign Chandler Stephenson and still have a very, very good top-6 that is tougher.

Absolutely Brady would look GREAT in the Black and red colors....and I never thought this was far fetched, because the Devils were going heavily after Matthew. I know he wanted out of Calgary, but my point is that Fitzy wants someone he inquires, regardless if they are a RFA, UFA OR NOT. A trade can be worked out. This issue I have is you devils fans are only looking at this through your teams perspective. We are losing either our 2025 1st or 2026 1st. We aren’t going to be trading for future assets. We can’t afford to put out a young losing team without our 1st. Moving Tkachuk in any capacity will be a loss for the team. We won’t win that trade. Look at the flames. Stuck with an aging Huberdeau meanwhile the panthers are going on antoher run because of Tkachuk. Staios knows he losses that trade 9 out 10 times. Also from what I’ve heard from listening to essentially every Brady Tkachuk presser over the years is that he loves the city and wants to win in Ottawa. Here is a quote from April after we were eliminated “My only goal is to win a Stanley cup in Ottawa, that’s always been the goal. It’s disappointing the results we’ve had and the expectations we haven’t lived up to so definitely disappointing but my goal is to bring the Stanley cup back here.” Tkachuk also has a program here to develop youth leadership called “Tkachuk’s Captains”. There is absolutely no chance someone 24 years old that is this involved in the community and future of the team would be moved. But good luck I guess

We definitely need an aggressive forward and 1 or 2 more aggressive defenseman. As well another penalty kill defenseman. Teams skate through the zone and are never even bumped, and our defensive cannot clear the puck out if the zone. The forwards never stand up an attacking player coming into the zone. As unreal as it would be to have Tkachuk, it doesn't seem logical by any means from Ottawa's side. The same elements that he could bring us, are what he brings the Sens. Losing Tkachuk would set Ottawa back years.

Getting Brady Tkachuk would be phenomenal. A huge piece that were missing for this team to be a contender for many years to come. However, we still need to address the goaltending issue or that never may be.

Cant keep putting a band aid in net since Daws and Schmid arent consistent enough. Allen definitely isnt a number 1 and the defense is too offensive and makes mistakes alot.
