On September 30th, NJ Transit ran a once in a lifetime excursion train to celebrate their 40th anniversary of railroad operations. At South Amboy, they held an event where they would swap their electric engines with diesel engines. A maneuver that was common at this station until the mid 1980s. I also got to see a few normal NJ Transit services while waiting.
While here, I also met @NJT4211 and @Thunderbolt_1000_Siren . Go check out their channels!
