I find it curious how they just showed the less affluent, half, part of the city. Almost as if they’re trying to paint a cartoony picture of the place 😂
@muhannadobeidat2 ай бұрын
They showed the old city with the restaurants that has been around for generations. That is how you show the authentic part of a country. Not the polished fancy “investment” restaurants.
@kobe24OBCity2 ай бұрын
@@muhannadobeidat I get what you’re saying but you’re missing the point. If you were to judge the place by just watching the video, you’d think it’s a scene from Aladdin.

Ainsley, when you went to the desert and you made your red pepper dip, this is originally a middle eastern dip called muhammara.

A lot of these chefs visit our countries, steal their ideas and sell as their own in their own restaurants. Without giving any credit to where it came from sadly. The reason they show the lesser part of our countries is a typical Western Outlook sadly. Notice they hardly show the affluent and developed areas

But this is a street food doc… not a general cuisine doc. Ainsley did another series that was more focused on general cuisine and not just street food. He went back to Jordan and did 2 episodes, he was a in posher areas in that series. This series he also goes to Barbados in the Caribbean, but again because of where street food typically is, he didn’t go to the posh areas in that series. Western chefs do DO that, but this isn’t the best example because he pretty much did the same even in European countries in this series. I do wish they gave credit to the restaurants though, he mentioned the names of them on the discovery + edition I believe.
