a 97s born chiptone and 8 bit game lover from China here tear dropping, never tried the game nor growing up playing with it like many Japanese do here. Shin onigashima OST has been in my iTunes playlist for a year and I never get tired of this tone though it hardly features rich tonal element as it's powered by 8 bit synthesiser. I could somehow image how beautiful the story behind this game is (though had never played this before) and even the Japan in 1980s being a highly progressive and a golden era.(昭和、平成)( probably because of the stereotype I had on old days of Japan is typically those arcade games LOL) so this Orchestra version strikes me deeply into my heart that I wish I could be one of those kids born in 1980s Japan accompanied with all those good old game and animation.
Great composition, arrangement, and playing. I'm sure you have PLENTY of options what you'd do next, but i nominate some of the tunes from the first in this series, Yuyuki, music by Soyo Oka.

Amazing and beautiful, as always. Can't wait to see what's next! PS: please, think about recording "Mother Earth", intro theme from Mother (NES)
