Wrestle Kingdom is the Japanese version of WrestleMania which takes place at the Tokyo Dome every January 4. The January 4 Tokyo Dome show has been there for a long time during the era of Keiji Mutoh, Masahiro Chono and Shinya Hashimoto but the name Wrestle Kingdom came from a wrestling video game of the same name which is produced by Yukes who took over NJPW and kicked Antonio Inoki out from power and they used the name in 2007 which is still used today. The early January 4 Tokyo Dome shows had WCW wrestlers competing in the show and the main event of the first Wrestle Kingdom was a tag team match featuring Masahiro Chono and Keiji Mutoh vs Tencozy (Hiroyoshi Tenzan/Satoshi Kojima) in which Chono and Mutoh paid tribute to their deceased comrade, Shinya Hashimoto and Wrestle Kingdom 2-5 featured wrestlers from TNA

Don't want to sound like I dislike it but that graphic you use to show the matches is very poor, I have seen that on a lot of shows, that was the only disappointing part of the show. I think Wrestle Kingdom III had the best build up package.

lol NJPW tries to be the WWE way harder than TNA but NJPW does a good job of it. Yujiro is now "Mr R-Shite" which means Mr Rated R aka Rated R Super Star Edge, Archer is the American Badass Undertaker now, "NEVER" is NXT, The only difference is the wrestlers who are they were already established so they didn't have to change any of the bigger names. The NJPW copies the WWE a lot though there's no denying it.
