I'm 37 now and only just found my curiosity about this kind of stuff in the last few years. Now I can't stop watching mathematics videos. Thanks for uploading from all us late bloomers. Really facinating.

Better late than never. But 37 is not that old, plenty of time to learn lots of new things! Thanks for the comment.

Johnny Threefour I spent lifetime putting together some equations and often times, it just takes lifetime to understand that one element within your own equation, to me imaginary number is still one of them, especially in terms of what the physical meaning of it is.

Thank you, thank you and thank you for this video lecture. I use imaginary number in my equations as a scientist myself (I mean technically), but it was always hard to grasp the true meaning of imaginary number. Imaginary number is an inevitable invention and it opens up unknown worlds beyond our own. By the way, I am much older than 37 and still learning what people claim as a simple stuff, those who don't really understand beyond definition.

Great teaching. It is a shame some students arrive late or leave early.
