Thank you for posting this. I thought I was the only one that thought the "security" was way out of hand. If they didnt want the general public to see the locomotive the. Why did they even bring it into the valley.

Exactly. They're gonna lose a lot of people next year because of how they were treated. I don't even know if I want to go next year if I have to deal with that.

I've been going since they brought steam back to the valley in 2008 so I'll keep going. But now if you want a good shot with no "security" bothering you, you'll have to hike into a spot.

I just attended the “night photo session” trip last night and it was an absolute joke. My buddy and I were rudely “asked” to see our tickets when we went over to get in the photo line shortly after we got off the train in Akron. The lack of professionalism and courtesy at CVSR was appalling and left a sour taste in my mouth. I understand your pain.

It doesn't suprise me. The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad is a joke honestly. I feel bad for the Fort Wayne Guys that have to deal with the flack of CVSR's Attitude.

I was out there too, the CVSR volunteers were some of the rudest people I've ever came across. I liked this railroad but lost a lot of respect for it because of the foolish actions of the volunteers.

I also had a bad experience with the volunteers of this railroad and how they handled the event. It was so bad that I decided to cut off my chase of it in the middle of the 2nd day and go home instead. Unless they redo how they take care of their customers and prospective customers, that railroad will not get a dime out of me.

Hey Bro I saw that CVSR volunteer can be so rude grouchy and cruel at you Not your weekend, ruined your Saturday I been there too the police can be cruel at railfans too Of their Bad Attitude Take my advice: Don't let them ruined your weekend or ruined your Saturday You just go out there be ready to Chase a Train on down the Line You are a great Railfan with a great narration, police, CVSR Volunteers can be Rude, Grouchy, Mean, and Cruel you just enjoy out there and keep on chasing trains. No the problem is, there were multiple people beside me (the first time) & and front of me (the second time). I wasn't doing anything wrong I was just being yelled to be yelled at for no apparent reason. I wasn't given a reason why, so if I was given a reason what I was doing wrong, there wouldn't be a problem but there was no reason stated which makes it a problem.

@Ryan Seals -- The "safety measures"--if you want to call it that--which were taken at this event were outright asinine. I could see a useful purpose for the fence in railfanning if it were managed right and if it were set up in such a way that a group of people could stand behind the fence and get photographs without the fence appearing in the shot (for instance, using it as a way to create a "photo line" without someone with a bullhorn directing everyone on where to stand). They literally had the fence EVERYWHERE though, and it was obvious that they were doing it to try to ruin all of the shots that a railfan might want to get and it had nothing to do with safety. Rumor has it that the historical society that owns the locomotive has already decided that they will no longer be offering the trips at CVSR in the future due in part to the way the railroad has mishandled the railfans. Either way it doesn't matter to us, because we already decided we will never be back because it has become hokey. And we BOUGHT tickets to the event too...we weren't just "freeloading" as I'm sure some do.
@GTRailFanProductions6 жыл бұрын
@@thewvnetwork thank you. This is very true and I appreciate you supporting me. It was ridiculous how far the park went this year and I know a lot of people that we're almost given tickets for simple filming the 765. It was ridiculous. A lot of people are not coming back next year because of how ridiculous it was with the cops & some volunteers breathing down everyone's necks.
@thewvnetwork6 жыл бұрын
I really don't think there will be a next year, so they don't have to worry. Just like much of America, they are putting themselves out of business by over regulating THEMSELVES--or at least knocking themselves out of one of their biggest cash cows for the year. And don't get me wrong, I do agree there is a need for some type of safety measures. Railfans can get out of hand and endanger others--and the train. But there was no need to take away all the parking spots or to close Indigo Lake (especially when they don't even allow the paying train passengers to get photos there!!!), or all the fence everywhere else.
@GTRailFanProductions6 жыл бұрын
@@thewvnetwork exactly! I hope there is a next year I just hope they freakin don't do what they did this past year. I love going to this national park and seeing 765 run in it but when they take what to many safety precautions it's just makes it not fun and then nobody wants to come. Nobody wants to come when you can't even film the damn thing at a public crossing (yes people were being kicked out from a crossing in Everett as 765 was rounding the bend). The roads are public property so you are allowed to pull off on them. It would be different if it was private property but it isn't. And the attitude of some of the cops think they are so big and bad. Again, it's just gonna drive away people if they keep this up and will end up losing potential riders, donaters, and possibly customers. This is just getting out of hand and it needs to be fixed for next year.

The staff at the cvsr was the worst I have ever seen. While standing on the platform waiting to board the train, one of them was on the platform screaming at every one that she could even after it had stopped. I have talk to several people that were there who will never return including me.

Yeah. I didn't thank attitudes of some of the CVSR Volunteers especially the one in this video. Also the cops were outrageous this year kicking people out of spots that were public property. I plan to go to Steam In The Valley this year only because NKP 765 turns 75 Years old.

I'm just gonna go ahead and say it, you weren't being yelled at. Just because someone SLIGHTLY raises their voice at you, DOESN'T mean they're yelling at you. Trust me, I know what it's like to ACTUALLY get yelled at. And I'm not trying to come across as being rude myself but in that volunteer's defense, she wasn't yelling, only SLIGHTLY raising her voice so that she could be heard over the wheels squealing.
@GTRailFanProductions5 жыл бұрын
First of all, she started yelling after I cut the film, and if you saw the train ended after i cut the film, so I moved. If I had more time on my SD Card, trust me, the whole thing would've been on film. Second, I was still being yelled at after as i was moving. I was basically being yelled at wherever i would set up. So finally my last option which I didn't want to do and thought was kind of rude of me but was caused by the volunteer, that I had to stand in front of people that were passengers and were standing there longer than I was. So I had to sit down on the platform and put my tripod on the lowest level. Then she decided to stand in front of my camera for a little bit. Then she thought it would be smart to move and then walk in front of my camera as 765 was in front of my camera. Plus the event is filled with cops so much that the event isn't even fun anymore, because they take it overboard. I'm only attending one day most likely this year only because 765 turns 75 years old this year.
