The coolest thing about ohtani is not just that he makes great plays and breaks records but he somehow always does it in the most iconic ways possible. From the wbc vs trout, to making 40/40 with a walk off grand slam, to breaking 50/50 with one of the dominant baseball games ever played. This guy is literally the protagonist of baseball

To witness Ohtani play is to watch a manga character leap off the page, defying the confines of ink and paper, and come to life in vibrant, explosive brilliance, each game a living issue, a collector's edition, with Ohtani as the protagonist in an anthology of greatness.

@@ZagirusMay I just say that you are a TINY bit obsessed with Ohtani? Even though I would like to have an actual argument with you on how Shohei Ohtani isn’t all butterflies and rainbows, your only argument would probably be that he is a 3x MVP and is the MLB’s only true two way player since Babe Ruth. So before you make an entire paragraph of what I would to say, irrelevant to the conversation and then close out your paragraph by calling me an Angels fan. Just remember Shohei Ohtani doesn’t know you exist and will never know you exist. Kudos, friend.

Can't wait to see Ohtani returning as a pitcher next season, he was great in 2022, that year Shohei's ERA was 2.33 (and batters were hitting .203 against him as a pitcher) It was better than this years Cy young winners Sales 2.38 ERA (batters were hitting .216) and Skubal 2.39 (batters were hitting .204) And last year Shohei as an Ace pitcher batters were hitting .184 league best, It's incredible how dominating he was as a pitcher considering he won 15 games on an Angels team that were 72-90, he can win 20 games next season with the Dodgers.

This pitcher recovering from elbow surgery: 1. Started the 50-50 club 2. Led the National League in home runs 3. Reached 40-40 on a walkoff grand slam 4. Reached 50-50 on a bonkers 6-for-6, hat trick (3 HRs) game where he and his team scored 20 runs. Not only is he like the Superman of baseball, he embodied what it was like for the Dodgers to reach the playoffs with all the injuries across the roster and _win._ Their WS MVP had a bad ankle, and as it turns out, a broken rib, and he was absolutely clutch with a 4-game homer streak and a walkoff grand slam. It is absolutely unreal when you think about it. Even when Shohei hurt his shoulder on a bad slide, he stepped up to the plate to help rally the team. I cannot wait to see him on the mound as a Dodger.

It was a pleasure watching the power and speed of Ohtani this season, If they walk him he'll steal a base, and if they pitch to him he'll hit a HR, Shohei turns a single into a double or sometimes a triple with a stolen base, either way it's a nightmare and a bad percentage for the pitchers, and when Shohei is on base he knows how to spot a ball their machanic and habits because he's a pitcher himself, Shohei's success rate in SBs shows this. I was devasated when he got injured and could'nt pitch this year, But to see his all around talent with speed and power and make history going 50-50 that's as great as it gets.

Ohtani can pitch at Cy Young level, can steal 20+, hit for 40+ HR at the same time. Don't forget, he can also play outfield with cannon arm. He played 54 games as an outfielder in 2013, while pitching. He now has a power to hit 50+HR constantly. Not just 2024, but in 2023, If he kept playing as a hitter, he was on pace to hit 50+HR (2023: 44HR in 135 games, 2024: 45HR in 135 games and ended hitting 54HR in 159 games).

9. The second to win MVP in both league; Conclusion: The GOAT.
New Yorkers/Lindor fangirls really have some fascinating logic. They want you to fall for the idea that their beloved Lindor deserved the NL MVP, yet they conveniently gloss over a few tiny details-like, oh, maybe the fact that he didn’t even make the All-Star team, the All-MLB first team, or even as a gold glove finalist, despite their fixation on his defensive prowess compared to that "non-defending" Ohtani. And let's not forget the little issue of WAR. You know, that pesky stat where Ohtani casually outshines him with a whopping 9.2 bWAR compared to Lindor’s 6.9. These casuals twist themselves into mental pretzels trying to say Ohtani doesn’t deserve MVP just because he’s a DH. Never mind that Ohtani's stats leave Lindor eating dust in any offensive metric you care to name: OPS, AVG, RBI, OBP, OPS+…yep, all Ohtani. And yes, let's just sweep under the rug the trivial detail that Ohtani didn't merely have an MVP season like few others. No, he casually decided to craft one of the most legendary seasons in the annals of baseball history with his 50/50 milestone, and he did this in arguably the greatest regular season game ever, with his 6-for-6 performance featuring 3 homers, 10 RBI, 5 XBH, and 2 SB to clinch the postseason. Enough said, Ohtani is obviously the true MVP.

I love watching these videos of pitchers not turning around to see if Ohtani hit a home run off their pitch. Also, some right fielders remain frozen in their position without looking for the ball.
