Casuals might’ve forgotten but Ohtani’s general postseason stats before he got injured were: 934 OPS, .286 AVG, .434 OBP, .500 SLG. Rescued his team from a NLDS sweep with his massive clutch 3-run homer, had NLCS performance of 1.184 OPS, .364 AVG, .818 with RISP, leading with 9 runs, reaching the bases 17 TIMES and of course, he massively contributed to Game 1 of the World Series with his series-changing clutch double in the 8th inning that led to Freddie's grand slam, which crushed the Yankees' morale, playing a massive role in swinging the WS momentum in the Dodgers' favor.

@@FBIStatMajornah offensively it was one of our best. top 5 for sure. 2017,2020,2022 offensive lineups where crazy . our bullpen was really good but our starting pitching staff this year was cooked tho. almost everyone was hurt. we only had 1 good pitcher yamamoto . flaherty was okay. popped he was a 50/50 guy and beuhler was barely getting his lick back. every other game was a bullpen game, and in the playoffs is crazy.

That was up to the Padres to send the Dodgers packing yet again. The difference maker was Ohtani and Dave Robert's. Ohtani because everyone rallied around him. Robert's because against all odds and all naysayers he managed every part of the postseason down to to Buhler making the final out in the World Series.

There was something special about this dodgers playoff run. It had the makings of a movie ending that won't be replicated. From the injuries to shutting up the detractors and naysayers about 2020, to the drama of each series the likes of which was absolutely surreal. This team fought and clawed it's way to a title like no other team I've seen in my lifetime. I do have my problems with Roberts as a manager, but man oh man the maneuvering of the hitters and pitching staff from series to series, game to game, inning to inning, batter to batter was legendary. What an unforgettable ride. One for the ages. Godspeed gentlemen.

Totally. TBH, I lived in NYC for 22 years and also developed a fondness for the Mets. They were definitely the underdog against the Dodgers, but that rivalry felt way less antagonistic than with the Padres and Yankees.

I’ve seen, though obviously not remembered, or even been aware of, every Dodgers run for the fall classic since I was born in 1965, (Twins), thanks to my dad. This year, 2024, has been my favorite ever. The Bronx Bombers bombed. Shutting down the entire New York baseball fandom. Mets, then best of all, the Yankees. And so decisively. Go Blue!! Now and forever! If they never had such post-season yips these last whole bunch of years, they would have another 6 or 7 World Series titles. But, if doesn’t matter. And yes, I’m well aware that the Yankees are way ahead in overall series matchups. So…you know.
