NL Wild Card Crossover: Braves vs. Padres

Contrary to what Hake has said, despite the offensive struggles we have had in both August and September the Braves have had a collective .250 average over the last two months. April it was .260, but the biggest cause of our struggles besides underperforming was injury. Losing crucial pieces of the lineup for long stretches or the year has an impact. We’ve been forced to rely on guys we shouldn’t be and our speed was reduced to nothing for a while. This limited how we could attack teams. That deep lineup we were used to did not exist anymore with all the injuries. We are very happy to be here and we will see what happens but one heck of a challenging year.

padres series will probably be the toughest they will have in the playoffs, traveling west after a doubleheader, facing a hot team, likely a spot starter for game 1

Life long braves fan here since 89... love jake but i will say... ive been watching javypeño for just over a year. I like this kid, and im from san diego so its always good to see the hometeam win... but for now.......... GO BRAVES!!!! Playing with house money now. Double down boys, DOUBLE DOWN!

I liked hearing from this Padre guy before when Jake did a crossover with him, and especially today, not because he's for the Braves, he's obviously pulling for his team, as he should, but he really knew his Braves info very well...that's refreshing...it's official my sister will be starting & closing game one for our Braves... The sad thing is, we made the playoffs with a Band-Aid on our team. If we had most of our roster this wouldn't even be a conversation. And if we went in with our entire roster there's no doubt we would win the world series.

I feel bad for the Padres. Without Sale I think we're the biggest longshot of any WC series, which if we learned anything the last few years means we will sweep them in 2 blowout games.

AA said they sat down as a pitching group and it was sale that brought up they should just save him. the quote going around is "I'll roll out of bed and pitch I don't care." His velo was down during the cinci game, 3 mph off on his fastball. there were signs that line up.

You can concede game 1 to the Padres, they just played 3 games in two days, plus travel in addition to that they used all of their pitching in the past 3 games. They added AJ Smith-Shwaver and Bryce Elder out of necessity in the hopes that they can get 7 innings from them in game 1 and use Jessy Chavez in two innings. Game 2 matchup Musgrove vs Fried is going to be a low scoring game but I do trust the Braves to win it and Game 3 Cease vs López is going to be all hands on deck, I still think the Padres will win it all this year but this series is going to go all 3 games.

as Braves fans were playing on house money; getting here is good enough for all the injuries. Should be no pressure to go further; if it doesn't happen. I would love to go deep but should be no pressure or stress. The Padres should have the stress as if they can't get by Atlanta there season would be a waste.
