At the Citi Field stadium in New York, prior to the start of Game 5 of the 2024 National League Championship Series (New York Mets v. Los Angeles Dodgers, October 18, 2024), the legendary Temptations perform the National Anthem, then sing beloved Mets superstar Francisco Lindor's walkup song "My Girl."
Following that, in recognition of the Mets' 2015 World Series appearance, pitcher Matt Harvey (NYM 12-18) throws the ceremonial first pitch to his teammate Yoenis Cespedes (NYM 15-20).
The Temptations performed on the warning track directly behind home plate, not in front of home like you'd expect. Because they were wearing dark colored jackets, they mixed in with the crowds of photographers recording their appearance. Unfortunately, that made them difficult to see from this vantage point, but it's what those of us who were actually at the game saw. However, after performing the anthem, they changed into the Mets' home whites before singing "My Girl," so they stood out much better.
