He wrote that song? Not if you watch the movie on the Temptations. Great movie. They say the end is not true with David Ruffin. His friend who he was coking with dropped him off at the hospital. In the movie they dropped him off in the road which my daughter said it was probably on the pavement at the emergency room because the friend did not want to be implicated.

My boyfriend used to sing this song to me while we dragged main in his ‘57 Chevy back in the ‘60s.…and I’d try not to giggle. We celebrated our Golden Anniversary a few months ago. Not many artist can make good music, dance, and NOT have a cuss or sexual word every other sentence. That's pure talent to have all these qualities in one. Must pay your respects to Motown 🙇🏽👐🏾

@rayw3294 why did you have bring race in it??? Not necessary, most of the greatest artist are BLACK even before segregation! Not mention all the music stolen and redone by many white artist do your research. If you would have worded your context differently it wouldn't have been taken so offensive, bc I was going to agree with you to some degree that our younger generation music is trash, straight garbage! The rap is mainly ab killing, drugs, sex vulgar etc so I get it. Some of them actually live that lifestyle and some only for entertainment purposes, either way we are only held accountable for our actions, there are some good BLACK groups still around and times have changed as you can see. But our race our culture will always stand out, we happen yo be good at everything 🙏🏽 a blessed people in general. I'm far from racist I have white friends, and biracial family and some of my closet friends are white and guess what I let them speak freely but respectfully bc we are adults and reality is reality, it's the manner in which you address a topic that makes all the difference, btw my ex is white, loved him to pieces we never looked at our skin, only our love. This music is a classic from my generation along with so many other successful artist from back then and I do agree we will never really get this type of music and soul again. But we have memories to cherish, thanks to Motown, Barry Gordon and Clive Davis you guys were genius with music. ❤

David Ruffin's voice and confidence jumps off the screen. Looks like he's just messing around in this video and yet his performance is still better than anything you'll see today. Watching this as a grown man I now see why my grandparents loved this group so much.
