My boyfriend used to sing this song to me while we dragged main in his ‘57 Chevy back in the ‘60s.…and I’d try not to giggle. We celebrated our Golden Anniversary a few months ago. He’s a keeper. ♥️ Update 4/18/24. Celebrated #53 a few days ago. We’re still chuggin’ along…him sometimes strumming’ his guitar, humming for me. 🥰

Not mention all the music stolen and redone by many white artist do your research. If you would have worded your context differently it wouldn't have been taken so offensive, bc I was going to agree with you to some degree that our younger generation music is trash, straight garbage! The rap is mainly ab killing, drugs, sex vulgar etc so I get it. Some of them actually live that lifestyle and some only for entertainment purposes, either way we are only held accountable for our actions, there are some good BLACK groups still around and times have changed as you can see. But our race our culture will always stand out, we happen yo be good at everything 🙏🏽 a blessed people in general. I'm far from racist I have white friends, and biracial family and some of my closet friends are white and guess what I let them speak freely but respectfully bc we are adults and reality is reality, it's the manner in which you address a topic that makes all the difference, btw my ex is white, loved him to pieces we never looked at our skin, only our love. This music is a classic from my generation along with so many other successful artist from back then and I do agree we will never really get this type of music and soul again. I can still remember riding the school bus home when this song came on the radio. I was about seven at the time. We were the last stop. As the bus driver opened the door to let us off the violin solo was just ending. I wasn't going to get off the bus until the song was over. I could see the drivers face in the mirror. It was just him and I enjoying a great song together. He didn't say a word. As I walked off the bus he just smiled and said ''See ya tomorrow''.

This is mine and my Dad's song. On car trips to his childhood home in Southern Illinois, he'd often play some motown classics that he loved. The temptations were his number 1. Nothing beats riding a boat across Ohio, singing this with your Dad. To this day, if we encounter this in public, we break into a duet.

With this performance, Doo-Wop ended and the era of the Soul vocal group began. Group member Otis Williams took an important lesson from the Cadillacs' choreography: let the dance tell the song's story. The result is a performance that would define the Temptations, Motown's performance strategy, and vocal group performance for the next thirty years. It doesn't hurt that it is performed with absolute precision and feeling to one of the best Smokey Robinson songs ever. That's only one reason that the Temptations are legends.
@Biggdoom3443 жыл бұрын
Barry Gordy ripped off his artists, a very common practice then but he was a genius. One band played all the music ( the funk brothers), he had people write the songs so that he controlled all the royalties, and he had a team of dance choreographers, teachers on etiquette and how to give interviews. A lot of these artists came up poor but were extremely polished due to the Motown machine.
