A better manager would have pulled Latos before the game got out of hand, and would have done the same thing the previous day, Game 4. Dusty Baker made the same mistake with the Cubs in the '03 NLCS Games 6 & 7, leaving starters in the game much too long.

@@jasonrichards9431 see Baker can never sense trouble he always always when managing our Reds when the starters were near the end leave them in with bases loaded or he'd wait til the bases were loaded & not give the reliever room for error outside of Rivera there has been no automatic in this era relievers always go 2-2 or full count on hitters 2 are on or bases loaded todays relievers need wiggle room very few of them can make it hold Chapman did as a Red then he gets gassed by the Yankees & then especially the Cubs now he's back in New York & struggles always against Boston, Houston probably tainted if Altuve didn't know the pitch from technology not sure what happens.

The funny thing about this game and the Series is since the Famous Steve Bartman PLay in Chicago when Dusty was the Manager. Dusty Baker has lost a total of 7 straight home playoff games as a Manager. LETS GO GIANTS
@jasonrichards943110 жыл бұрын
If the 7th hitter starts the 5th inning of a do or die game with a sharp single to left, a manager who wants his team to die will do EXACTLY what Dusty Baker did: Wait until two runs have scored and the tired, discouraged pitcher has walked the 2nd hitter on four pitches, bringing Pablo Sandoval to the plate with Buster Posey on deck, THEN call the bullpen and tell a reliever to start throwing. That way, Posey has time to launch his satellite, jog around bases and get out of the way, right before the reliever comes in and completes his warmup tosses without interruption. Just like clockwork.
@scottedwards296210 жыл бұрын
Jason thats why we the Giants won 3 World Series under Bruce Bochy. He wouldnt make bad decisions like that. In fact I think after the Reds lost this series to the GIANTS Dusty Baker got fired the year after

Scott Edwards With '03 Cubs, Dusty mismanaged pitching same way, leaving Mark Prior & Kerry Wood in 6 & 7 too long, not using Matt Clement on side session day the way Bochy last year with Baumgartner. Really a shame the world blames Steve Bartman for all that. Looking forward to August when Cubs-Giants play 7 games. 2 best mgrs in baseball, IMO

As a fie hard Refs fan, i told EVERYONE i knew and anyone that would listen that after we won game 2, we were without question going to lose this series. I had no foubt my team would choke, only needing to win 1 of 3 games at home. The reason I knew, is because at the end of the day, THEY'RE STILL AN OHIO TEAM, and Ohio teams will always choke unfortunately. We will never EVER see an Ohio sports team win any kind of championship EVER AGAIN, EVER. Ever. It will never happen. Buckeyes, Reds, Browns, Bengals, Guardians, Cavs, Blue Jackets. None of ANY OF THOSE TEAMS will ever be a champion in their respective league.
