NLEX Connector segment 2 - Sta Mesa / PUP Update as of October 2024

I visited the PUP Sta. Mesa area to check out the final section of the NLEX Connector Section 2, which will link the NLEX Connector to the Skyway Stage 3 Junction prime project. The installation of Super Tee girders on this section is underway. The transition between the northbound and southbound traffic flows is now visible, with the lower level designated for northbound traffic and the upper level for southbound traffic. Once completed, this portion of the NLEX Connector will serve as the current terminus, linking it to the Skyway Stage 3 junction section, which is still under construction.
Bumisita ako sa PUP Sta. Mesa area upang tingnan ang huling bahagi ng NLEX Connector Section 2 na mag-uugnay sa NLEX Connector sa Skyway Stage 3 Junction prime project. Ang pag-install ng Super Tee girders sa bahaging ito ay isinasagawa na. Kitang-kita na ngayon ang pagbabago ng daloy ng trapiko sa pagitan ng northbound at southbound, kung saan ang mas mababang antas ay para sa northbound traffic at ang itaas na antas ay para sa southbound traffic. Kapag natapos na, ang bahaging ito ng NLEX Connector ay magsisilbing kasalukuyang terminus nito, na mag-uugnay ito sa Skyway Stage 3 junction section, na kasalukuyan pa ring nasa ilalim ng konstruksyon.

Once NLEX's extensions to Fairview and C5 are completed, this expressway will make more sense to travel on cos of its better design and higher speed limit compared to Skyway 3.

Mas malapit pa ang MMSS3 sa amin. Kasi sa school ko at bahay sa may Tandang Sora malapit lang ang Skyway doon at Nlex konektado na yon plus may NLEX Connector pa? Kasi kami as family we always use Skyway when going further south like going to Cavite,Batangas and Laguna. For me mas convenient ang Skyway Stage 3 kaysa sa Nlex connector. Kasi ginagamit lang namin Nlex connector when going to Espana or kaya Manila . Pero anyways Sir Dimitri the update about the project was great!

Any progress on Right of Way acquisition in Pandacan on the other side? Construction has not started there. Looks stalled. BTW Santa Mesa is ugly and needs urban renewal badly. 43,000 people per square kilometer is unacceptable. Lots of slums and dilapidated cramped ghetto structures. ¡Qué horror!
