The vocal director for this song needs a promotion no joke, every member sounded just outstanding and just so damn confident in their uniqueness and technique. It takes a group of vocalists to pull this arrengement off. The ad libs? Literally all of them had moments of riffs and stacked harmonies its crazyyy

I LOVE how they were teasing us with the change up multiple times in this song. Both after their first chorus and after the second prechorus, like you also pointed out. My ONLY little eh with the song is I wish the last chorus was longer

i absolutely love how they switched up on us with the nmixx change up. usually we expect it before or after second verse but then they faked us out with the slow down which also made the chorus hit harder the second time. very good choice there. the switch up felt so deserved and beautiful and i would say i wanted more of that part but the transition back into the chorus is just so hard, i think there's a new sound in the instrumental added there. i'm glad they didn't repeat the dash part any longer than they did. also love that the second mini part of the chorus was different each time. i just have so much praise for this song man, now i gotta go listen to the album before i wither away

Marvelous vocals, Kyujin and Bae improved so much! Bae's pre-chorus gave me goosebumps:) And I love the structure: the chorus slightly empty, but it's short and post-chorus is so full, it's so satisfying after the chorus. The change-up is during the bridge and not the second verse and chorus, so we can really enjoy both verses and choruses and only then experience change-up as the perfect ending. And yeah, the tone of that guitar, excuse me? It's like 7-string djent-tone guitar! Overall, 9/10 for me. NMIXX solidifyed the fact that they will stick to their sound - there're pros and cons to it. Cons: they won't ever be a mainstream top-1 group like NewJeans or Blackpink or even ITZY. Pros: they'll have steady and loyal fanbase and they'll be able to show us all their talents. They'll stick to the sound and they're still gonna be there! Concept-wise, I don't know where they're going. I don't see any consistency in lyrics, MV's etc. That's not bad, but that's their marketing. Newjeans were able to market themselves that well in part due to their outstanding music videos. Want it or not - kpop has long been audio-visual art, huge part of kpop success relies on a good quality MV. And while NMIXX MV are filmed good, I don't see any point in this filming sequence at all, that's the room for improvement!

Cool as F video w the captive prisoner motif, zebra suit inspired fashion (even put in an actual zebra!) and "I wanna dash" chorus with motive to break the hell out. The final sign showing "Hey you bastards I'm still here" taken from movie "Papillon" when Steve McQueen finally escapes from Devils Island penal colony after many years of an unjust imprisonment. Highly recommend that movie even though it is a bit old it is a classic.
