Greetings! And thank you for your reaction to NMIXX!! :) I'm a bit bummed that KZbin deleted the comment I left on your previous NMIXX video, as well as the one I wrote on this reaction video yesterday. In both my comments, there was a lot of links to other KZbin videos I was referencing so I'm sure that's the reason, unfortunately! But I still want you to have the info I took hours researching for, so I'll re-write my comment, edit out the links and try one last time :) So yeah, as I was enjoying your reaction to this stage practice, you mentioned that some time before, you were a big fan of GOT7! I don't know much about that group myself (I started my own kpop addiction only a few years ago and decided to focus on TWICE, then, but added NMIXX too when they debuted) but I decided to look for possible connections between NMIXX and GOT7 for you! Chronologically speaking, the first link I could find was between Lily and GOT7, when she was still a trainee at JYP Entertainment. It's not unusual for trainees to show up in then-current groups' project and it just so happen that in 2015, when Lily was 14 years old and in her first year as a trainee, that she was asked to write and also narrate a line for GOT7's song "If You Do". The next thing I could find was a few weeks after their debut, NMIXX did a Live video where they were chilling and dancing (as on "Street Woman Fighter") and ended up dancing to a few songs. One of them was GOT7's "Hard Carry". From what we know now, NMIXX was trained on many boy group songs, which is unusual for a girl group, but it led them to have better strength, lines and precision in their moves for their choreo than what is usually seen in girl groups. A few months later, during the prmotion for their song "DICE", they went on the show "Weekly Idol". In this show, there's a segment where groups do dance choreography on other group's songs and for NMIXX, one of these dances were for GOT7's "Hard Carry"! There's several camera angles of this performance (fix cam, moving cam with cuts, and moving cam one-take) if you want to search for them on the "ALL THE K-POP" channel. Shortly after, they went on Youngjae's Radio show. Since the space in that studio was quite limited, they had to choose only one NMIXX member to participate in a Dance challenge on the song "Hard Carry". They did some kind of game and Lily won, so she and Youngjae did a short choreo dance together. They then went to Los Angeles for KCON LA 2022 and participated in a "Drop the Dance" in front of kpop fans, where they had to relay dance to kpop songs. One of these was, you guessed it, "Hard Carry"! You can see Jiwoo (and the rest of NMIXX behind her) dance to it. Fast fowarding to 2023, when NMIXX released their first mini-album "Expérgo", they had the opportunity for some Dance challenges for their title song "Love Me Like This". Lily did one of these challenges with GOT7's BamBam and reciprocally, they also did one together for BamBam's "Sour & Sweet" song that he was promoting at the time too. Lastly, in June 2023, NMIXX was finishing up the last leg of their Showcase: "NICE TO MIXX YOU" that originally had tour dates in the US, before going to countries in Southeast Asia. Only for their Bangkok show, they added a cover of GOT7's "Hard Carry"! There's a few fancam available online to see it but one of the best is from user "sarapad k-chart". I'm sorry KZbin had deleted the original comments, but this is super helpful for me to get into NMIXX more :) Lily’s line in GOT7’s If You Do is SO iconic, my friends and I ALWAYS quote it lol!! It’s one of my favorite parts about that song!! I didn’t know NMIXX was trained on a lot of boy group songs, that definitely explains why their dancing is on another level. I agree with the training on boy group songs giving them better strength and lines! ALSO, I LOVE watching covers of Hard Carry so I’m definitely gonna be tuning into more of NMIXX covering it! I haven’t been up to date with a lot of GOT7’s solo endeavors since they left JYP but now that I have more time, I’m excited to catch up with them and start with NMIXX interacting with Youngjae and BamBam.
