Im a guy and my genuine female friends have been there to listen to me talk about my problems in a way or extent that my male friends never would. One of my female friends even got me a job which got me out of a dead end position I was in that would have been near impossible to leave unless I wanted to stay in that industry. That in turn snowballed to something else and Im now in a role that I love that pays significantly more and has better benefits. If my only intention was to one day get with my female friends we would have stopped speaking by now and my life would have been worse of for it.
