I feel like Endgames are the most interesting part of the game, they are a reward for the players who have both mastered the opening and middlegame.

It's sad that this video has so few likes as this is such an important concept to learn. We fight all game to get a pawn up or to get a better positional ending and it's so easy to throw it all away with just one mistake. Or maybe you are black and you will know how you might be able to draw if white plays the wrong move.

I have never heard the term "Royal Diagonal". However, to me - as a mathematician - the idea behind it is rather trivial. A common exercise in probability theory or combinatorics is to compute the number of shortest paths for a king from a specific field to another one.

Many thanks Robert. I sort of know this as shouldering. However I prefer Royal diagonal. It reminds me to look for a diagonal. I will look at your other endgames shortly. Well explained and easy to understand.

Excellent Carl! Let me know how you feel about the other endgames. Many people neglect endgames even though they are extremely important. So, it's great to see you do things right 👍

8:39 in second example if we move Kc3 so if a3 b4 Or black can forcelly get opposition

Exactly, Pulkit. In that variation, black goes around in time to make it a draw 👍

9:08 Kc3 to cut off the black king, afterwards it should be a simple matter of pushing the pawn.

I was familiar with the idea in the first position, but the second position took me a little while. At first I was looking at Kc3 and after a3 figuring out if b3 or b4 worked, and I think I have seen a similar position with an idea like that, or at least the one where the king goes to the pawn via b1 a2 if you are familiar. But very instructive, I plan on presenting this to some of the people I work with

8:54 I must say that i don't quite get it. It seems to me that both Kc4 and Kc5 would work but i'm definitely missing something. 9:24 Aah i think i get it now. Kc4 is too slow, the Black king will get to the corner in time. With Kc5 i'm getting closer to the pawn and to the corner and my opponent can't reach it in time

@@NMRobertRamirez yesterday I registered for a tournament which will take place on February 25th. since I don't have time to prepare a lot of openings. I will prepare the pirc with the blacks and indian kings with the whites. I just received my FIDE ID from the federation. I would like if possible to have advice on. how I will be able to prepare it this is my first tournament. even if I already know that I'm not going to win it, it's a 3min / 2 BLITZ. I'm not used to heheh blitz. my question is how i can organize myself and how to prepare. Do I continue as I did before with 3 or 4 hours of opening study and then tactical puzzles and then strategy books or there are other methods. I know it's a lingering question as always really sorry hehehe xD how we manage time in the game etc. its the open 2021 of arab and african chess tournament. i dont realy care of the prices but. I would like to have a lot of experiences heheh

@@mehdila6144 whenever I am about to go to a tournament, I like to review my openings and make sure I know them well. Besides that, lots of tactics and play games using the time control you will have at the tournament. In your case, lots of 3|2 games using the opening you will play in the tournament and do tactics. Leave strategy and everything else aside for now. Again, that's what I do. By the way, it would be better if you played over the board since it is not the same to play blitz on computer as it is in person. Some people might have a hard time adjusting.

First of all, I don't know why everyone says that endgame is boring. I find it really interesting, specially when I'm about to checkmate the other king.😆 And the other thing is that, I've seen this same topic in many lessons on youtube. To be honest, I've never got the idea correctly. You are too easy to understand. 🤗 Oh and congratulations for 2k sub. I was counting on it. 😊 Hope you get admired by many more...😊

Hello Amit! In that case, you are going to be just fine as you move up the ladder. Endgames can helps us in so many ways. Even to improve our calculation skills. Many people hit a plateau and and do not know how to overcome it. Many times, the problem could be solved by training endgames. As always thanks for your kinds words. It truly means a lot!
