Wow early HD is very interesting! You can still tell which cameras are true HD and which are upscaled. The in-cars are straight 4:3 not even trying. Graphics are strictly in the 4:3 area because at that time probably 99% of viewers didn't have widescreen TVs. I suspect 4K rollout will occur just as slowly and gradually in the live TV industry the next decade. We have the cameras and TVs, but its the transmission infrastructure and cable bandwidth that needs catching up.
