I gave this video a peek after beating the first phase (after several deaths). My set up for the second team wasn't the best, but learning that he doesn't have as much HP as the first part (600,000) and is more around (250,000) was the spirit boost I needed to try my best and hope beyond hope. I'm 2m leaves poorer and a LOT of my rare items are used up, but there is one less Galdera in the world! Special shout out to the assassins that are now enjoying most of my money! 💲

Aimilar with the 1st Octopath. The toughest fight is actually the 1st fight(500k hp) with endless summon. The 2nd/final fight was actually much easier with much lower ho and pretty straight forward fight 😢

The reason why the first half takes so long isn't because of the HP, but because it spends like half of the fight completely invulnerable. The second half is shorter because it doesn't respawn its adds and once it becomes vulnerable it stays that way.

@@maxcavalera9797 yes there are mixed opinions regarding which phase is harder. It really depends on your party setup. The 1st phase has much higher health but the 2nd phase does more damage and can do a party wipe faster.

I don't know why I'm reminded of one of my attempts from the first game against Galdera, but it was hilarious how it went looking back, I was already frustrated from several failed attempts at the boss, and so I was getting more and more infuriated on phase 2, however on this on particular attempt, I had Olberic prepped for the two turn insta kills... I was ready for the turn order, and... Galdera went first, killing olberic who also went first, which was bad, then afterwards all his parts just killed me team one after the other, I didn't even get a chance, a single TURN to resurrect. Lol, luck was not oh my side.

A thousand thanks to you for your encouraging and (almost) perfect guide of how to achieve victory over Galdera! I first watched to describtion about how to bear Vide in your other video and did that first. As a completionist, I had to level up all characters up to the max as there would simply be no use to do it after this epic fight. You gained my highest respect possible for your tips as here comes the kicker: I am an absolute noob in jrpgs, I only picked up the octopath games for its intense atmosphere that brought back the feeling of my 16-bit-era childhood. Usually, I never play jrps and am more the souls gamer. But as you took us by your hand and your detailed instructions, all made more and more sense - mechanics were revealed that suddenly clicked and that I never heard from before. Again, I am a level 1 beginner in this type of game and am definitely not playing the way as it is intended to be - I am just wandering around and did my thing. Until a couple of weeks ago, I just played for nostalgic and story reasons, only scratching the absolute surface of how this game SHOULD be played if you really want to max out its offerings. What I am trying to say: I am aware that I more or less only "copy" the steps you explain, but after beating Vide, the whole world of this genre's gameplay opened up a great deal more to me. I am far, far away daring to say "I know exactly what I am doing!", but I got so many situations I learned from your guide and had so many "Ahhhhhhh - now THAT is how it works and what that equipment/mechanic/consumables are really there for!" moments that I haven't had in years. I learned so much during the preparation for these fights and had a blast doing it - the pure feel of adrenaline when I messed up several times and am finally at the stage of what I hope for is the final stab...absolutely priceless. Thanks for this guide. I'd spent my entire game time planning for Galdera and what teams I'd use. I was promptly steamrolled by the first phase. If you let her respawn her minions more than once the fight becomes nigh impossible due to the changing one-at-a-time elemental weaknesses. Pure damage nuke really is the only reliable path to victory, and your guide helps people get there! I'll add that I found it helpful to give Ochette armsmaster so she could deal more first-phase damage with the Lionheart axe skill. I gave Hikari Conjurer so he could still wield the Giant's Club.

I forgot how hard Galdera was until we met again in OP2 and wow even harder. I spent a lot of time leveling in my first play through. I one shot every boss in the game up until that point. I was cocky going in to face galdera at level 70+ and I got whooped. Tbh it made me kinda perplexed how easy the base OP2 game is, the hardest part was galdera… again. Much appreciated for the guide! Tbh I played around with the builds to see how specific everything was to winning the fight and I was astounded. I died multiple times in the second phase because I didn't realize how integral the Finisher's Claws and Alpione's Amulet was... Also, it being night helps because of the proc in Throne and Temenos' abilities It's crazy to see the level effect fall off too. My team was all max level and some of the differences were barely noticeable. I even had a hard time getting my throne's speed up to where yours was because I used my nuts differently A simple couple of buffs got me right where I needed to be. I can't imagine how hard surviving this would be without such a preemptive strike setup... trying to tank/dodge all those physical attacks in phase two Phase one's elemental ads are also a trap if you don't skip it Thanks once again! Keep up the good stuff 😁

Before I get into analysis on this strategy, I just wanna say that you did way better than me. I got everyone into the nineties and the fight took over an hour for me. Excellent work, you should be proud. Phase One: The only difference in this strategy I would make is making use of the Dreadwing's (Rare-ish monster encountered during the night in the western Gravell wilds) ability to occasionally instakill the Omniscient Eye's souls. Since Ochette can summon the Dreadwing 6 times during her turn, and the Dreadwing's attacks having a 20% instant kill chance to the souls each, it's highly unlikely for any souls to survive. And in the unlikely event where one does live, I'm pretty sure that all of them are weak to wind, so no whiplash. Other than that, excellent phase one. Phase Two: A few little nitpicks for Phase Two. The first is the lack of Foreign Assassin in hired help. He can be found in the Western Merry Hills Pass at nighttime, and once defeated, is the best and by far most powerful option for hired help, costing 50,000 leaves for, at max boost, four assassins that deal high dagger damage to all enemies whilst also topping off everyone's health and SP. I get that you like Hikari at 1 health, since he's a glass cannon in that state, but just letting you know that Foreign Assassin is a thing. the other thing I had on this boss is that Hikari is at 1 HP the whole fight, since if Galdera gets an attack, it's possible for him to die, screwing the fight over. But then again, it's the best way to deal damage, so not much you can do about it. You didn't give Galdera a chance, and that is VERY difficult. All in all, excellent guide that, according to the comments section, works consistently. Galdera was much harder and easier at the same time in this game, but you did a great job killing him without selling your soul to the grind. And, of course, CONGRATULATIONS, U WAN!

I killed him with a level 50-60 group with only my Hikari being around 80. I also didnt do the Alpiones strat and instead used Finishers Claws and Fang of Ferocity which still did enough damage to kill the second phase relatively easy. I dont like my Hikari being 1HP so that I dont have to worry about taking a few hits. But I wish they made this fight like the story final boss where you can actively switch between your groups during the fight.

I defeated Galdera with a similar setup. The only major difference was that my second phase was mixed offense and defense. My Hikari was not dealing enough damage even with Alpione Amulet and Fang of Ferocity. I had dancer Throne and inventor Agnea to apply dancer divine skill on Hikari for Limb from Limb and arcanist Partitio to apply reflective barrier. After defeating the head and arm, it was an agonizing waiting game for Galdera to act first before Agnea while keeping the blade alive and applying either veil of darkness or Partitio's sidestep. After I see Galdera acting first, I broke his shield with aggressive thrust, hired beastlings, and dagger attacks from Throne and Agnea. Because I was making Hikari do as many hienka's as possible, I dedicated an action to use reinforcing jam on him. As a result, I did not have time to apply any buffs or debuffs on Galdera. It was still enough for my Hikari to defeat him with the shear amount of damage that he was dealing with each Hienka. Nerve-wracking but extremely satisfying boss fight if I say so myself!

The easiest way to beat Galdera is hired help, hands down. Beastlings for AOE shield breaks (solves the first phases rotating weaknesses), Veteran Soliders for damage after break, and Assassin's for healing, damage, and knife weakness hits. Both eye and Galdera are weak to daggers. Phase 1: Thief Hikari, Agneamaster, Cleric Partitio, Cleric Osvald. Bring Herbs of Grace, beastling the souls, than after break AOE On the Hunt the souls and Hienka+most damaging skill with Hikari on the eye along with On The Hunt from Agneamaster. Pull out the dagger skills for Hikari and Agneamaster, Mystic Staff, and Assassin's to break the 16 shields in last part of battle. Phase 2: Throne, Castti, Ochette all merchants (ochette needs Ocean Lizard King III), Temenos scholar. All have A Step Ahead. Break limbs with Beastlings, boost with Castti, and time the break for the first character of the second turn. Then once broken, Veteran Soldiers, Aebers, and Temenos burst skill while Castti boosts, then do it again next turn and use Assassins to refill temenos SP (and Castti should also hire here). Limbs should be dead. Then Galdera, break shields with provoke beasts 6 Ocean Lizard King III's, Asssassins, Temenos latent Elemental Barrage, and once broken, just burst him down with soldiers and assassins and Temenos's burst.

Only piece of advice I would make to people who are struggling is on that second to last turn instead of using the cursed tailsman with Hikari go ahead and attack him with Limb from Limb since Hikari is last in the turn order for the final round... Then on the last turn use the Ancient tailsman with one of the other characters and use another character to buff Hikaris BP back to full before his turn... This allows for an extra Limb from Limb on the boss before he can attack and may be the difference between life and death ... It was for me anyway since my strength and lvls weren't quite as high as yours were.

Did a bit of modification here, in the second phase, for killing galdera's minions, turns out a fully boosted sentencing gavel (can be learned from a judge in timberain I believe) is enough to eradicate them all. This eliminates the use of Sealtige's Seduction which shall add a bit freedom for when you're about to face Galdera without its shield.

This game is so detailed that I found that hard as well. I’m only getting ~27k damage max at the moment but it’s a combination of stats, equipment, player combo, and buffing/de-buffing. Also the Deal More Damage skill is critical to going above 10k damage.

Basically what I’ve learned to max out damage (to the extent I have) is break shields as the priority, buff team, de-buff enemy, max BP, use all skills that increase critical and damage.

I was excited to try this but despite having an identical build just with slightly higher leveled characters (low 70s to low 80s) but I cannot for the life of me figure out why despite using the same moves with the same buffs the minions grow back two more times after which Galdera absorbs then, has 16 shield points then destroys my party with 4 turns in a row. This is such a well made, easy to follow tutorial but sadly it's just not working for me

@@jeffreydean5112 I did find another video that doesn't seem to exist anymore that worked exactly one time, I tried replaying from the same save point with the identical build and identical steps and got wiped out every time after. This boss is just nuts and seems to be different everytime so I'd say just keep trying different guides until you luck out then walk away feeling satisfied if you can manage to beat it one time.

@@Robin-tp2nz Hey, thanks for writing back on this. I've tried about 20 times in three days and out of those 20 times, I made it to phase 2 about 5 times. Usually I get so nervous in phase 2 just to make it there that i screw up lol one thing that kinda helped me in phase 1 was to use the dreadwing to one hit KO the souls on the eye but it's based on luck (someone said there's a 20% chance for the one hit KO but in my case, it's more like 10%). But if you're able to get rid of them all safely the 2 or 3 times they respawn, then you're in the clear and phase 1 can be easy. Honestly I've lost in phase 1 probably 5 times just bc the dreadwing didn't work so it's a risky strategy. I'm at the point now where I really wanna beat him but I'm not angry, I'm more excited to keep trying different strategies but I know at some point soon, I'll throw my controller against the wall lol

@@Robin-tp2nz Quick update: Phase 1 is easy me now but one mistake in phase 2 and I'm behind the 8 ball. I've gotten phase 2 in yellow twice and then died. I used Limb for Limb when I should have used Divine Protection and got myself killed. With Dancer's ability to spread moves to everyone, Divine Protection can save the team for around 4 hits which could give you enough time to win.

So... just wanna say THANK YOU SO FUCKING MUCH! This boss was a bitch... on top of another bitch.... coated in super-bitchified carbon fiber; I tried multiple combinations, but yours pulled through. It is one of the few times I basically followed a pro-player's lead to a fault, so much to the point that I was watching and rewatching individual turns DURING the battle to make sure I didn't put something out of place. I got dealt a pretty good hand from the RNG as well. One thing I didn't quite understand in 2nd phase was the insistence to use Donate BP when you've got a stack of Pomegranates and Jams right there, which is what I did (as it gave more BP and I didn't want to risk coming up shorthanded for the final blow). But my 2nd phase was just a slightly better-RNG'ed version of yours. Hikari is such a beast. But what blew me away was your phase 1 setup (in a good way). It took me a couple tries, but it eventually clicked with me and I got the rhythm and order of priority down based on your example, so much that on my final run, the first phase wasn't even that scary. Sorry to gush, but this was so helpful. Galdera was such a massive difficulty spike compared to how easily I paved over the other 99.999% of the game with ridiculously over-leveled characters.

My fight is totally different when the 3 minions come back after being killed the first time. Instead of their normal weaknesses, they are only weak to one of 5 elements. And each minion has all their weaknesses locked except for one, but they’re all locked to a different weakness that rotate as you trigger that weakness for that minion. This fight goes from being fairly straightforward to nearly impossible because the 4 characters with this build just don’t have the abilities to single-target a rotate selection of 5 different elements.

You deal with that phase by using Ochette's Howl + 4x Hired Help Beastlings. Alternatively, use sealticge + Inventor's Elemental Bomb Bottle, which automatically target exposed elemental weaknesses. Dohter + Decayed Dragon Essence works too. And of course, if you're using 1 HP Hikari for the first phase somehow, just killing the adds before they can counterattack works too.

I have tried this over and over and over and over for the past week and it just doesn't work this way for me. All of my characters are maxed out, all nuts used, all damage dealers at 999 for their respective stats. The first phase is easy enough. Iv beat it consistently dozens of times over the past week. No issues there. The problem is the second phase. I'm doing everything you are, with the exact same set up, skills, equipment, and items. For some reason my Hikari just doesn't do the damage you are. For the arms he's only doing about 34k where as yours is doing 55k. I'm having to open with a 2 point boosted latent attack from him followed by a fully boosted limb for limb with lions dance to kill everything in the first turn. This is where it all falls apart. I'm casting alphrics on apnea, and using windy refrain... but as soon as the shields come down and he gets to attack its an instant 3-4 attacks in a row. Hikari just can't one shot this guy... iv even managed to get 2 fully boosted hired helps in there and he still won't go down. Yes im using the ancient dragon item as well. Iv even tried using negotiate schedule to buy my way thru a round.. This is driving me mad. I don't understand why your Hikari is doing 20k more dmg per hit than mine even though I'm 20 levels ahead of you.. and using all the same buffs and items.

Do you have both Giant Rod and Battle Tested Blade? Those two "augment physical attacks" or something like that. Is Hikari buffed while the is boss debuffed? People usually use Temenos for quick kills. Are you using 1HP tactics? Personally I made and followed my own strategy for Galdera, it's you who know your own characters the best after all.

I use the Beastlings hired help to take down shields and it usually works. I’m stuck on phase 2 bc I’m not dealing as much damage for some reason

I liked this game, but was super frustrated with enemy encounters, i was lvl 50 and and don't want to fight lvl 14 enemies because I'm in an area, they're would be a temporary ward of monsters something

Top guide. The main Char in the first half is not Osvald, but the Axe Frog. With Ochette and Frog you can break the blody trio every round, so goes for the eye. It doesnt matter who do the damage after that and in which hight. Frogger will handle this bullshit. Second half is clear: Hikari the D'arquest Lumina guy🤙

If the bloody trio respawn 2 times, resistences changes to elemental and you are fked. Im trying the first phase, but my damage is not enough following the guide, I dont know why 😭

@@Marea1990if you figure the damage part out, let me know please. For the elemental resistance point, I just used the hired help - beastlings to get rid of two of the shields and use a soulstone on the last one.

I'm admittedly trying to do this without using the nuts at all, as I kinda like to keep them all and then put them in one character to just roam around and wreak things solo, so I hope this helps me a lot. Edit: Made it to the second team's section but I had goofed badly... I didn't notice it in phase 1 because that phase usually takes longer, I questioned why Temenos didn't do his night time debuff on Galdera... I didn't have it at night... That would've been so much easier, and I nearly had it too lol.
