There should be no statute of limitations on proven rape. What the rape victim went through lasts a lifetime.
@ifiwsaflowridbearose4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it’s incredibly painful for the survivors but you can’t physically prove that a rape occurred 20 years ago. There would be no evidence of that left.. This is why cold cases are so hard to prove.

Have you guys even seen the way 10-12 year olds speak in online games? There is something seriously wrong with society today when little kids are using filthy language because parents are too stupid to keep them away from mature games, words like rape are sadly becoming very tame compared to other language they use. Filter your kids internet usage and stop letting them see anything they want, where is the common sense?
@GlennaVan4 жыл бұрын
@Satanic elmo 13 years old is most definitely a child. You seem to be trying to justify something here which might make us wonder what. They are not allowed to smoke, drink, vote, or marry - because they are children! 13-year-olds, boy and girls, buy their clothes in the children's departments, they are barred from certain movies because they are children, they are not allowed to marry in the United States. The term "teenager" is applied to those who have "teen" in their age - 13-19 - it has absolutely nothing to do with whether they are children or adults. Our laws in the United States consider them children until they reach the age of 18. There are many reasons for that. Add to that some 13-year-olds are as small as the average 10-year-old and others are as large as the average 16-year-old - however, they are still children in the eyes of the law and in the eyes of the medical profession.
@GlennaVan4 жыл бұрын
@Satanic elmo The law has definitions of both "child" and "adult," as well as definitions for "minors" and "adults" but there is no legal definition for "teenager" or "teen." "Teenager" is a slang term that has come into common usage. A teenager can be a child or an adult (18 and 19 are teenagers but are legally adults); it is an age description, not a legal description. There are no separate laws for teenagers, only minors and adults. You certainly seem to want to include older children in the adult category - that would be a defense (or definition) of a pedophile mentality. To say, or even imply, this man did not rape a child which certainly seems to be what you are saying is disgusting because she absolutely was a child then. I'm going to spoil your fun and no longer reply to this as you clearly either want to exploit older children, have pedophile leanings, or just blame want to argue. Some use the term troll.

@@audrapina2469 I’m so sorry you’ve had to just find out! I had to go through that exact thing 5 years ago when my mum told me that I was assaulted when I was 4. The assault wasn’t as major as rape but in a 4 year olds mind it was and it traumatised me and left me with an anxiety disorder although I can’t recall the events. I thankfully don’t remember it and for your sake I hope you don’t either. It is a horrible thought BUT it doesn’t have to define you. It doesn’t label you unless you want it too and you don’t have to be ashamed or embarrassed by it. I hope you heal from your past and I’m proud that you have spoken up! I hope you have a lovely life and my apologies for the long reply! What if you were raped as a very young child but you were too young to have any recollection of it? What if a close relative finally disclosed something so gut wrenchingly terrible but at the same time you had a sense of relief knowing you finally had an answer for your lifetime of unexplained panic, depression and inability to trust people? What if you knew you wanted to seek justice because you now knew who the attacker was and there was even proof but you were 42 as opposed to 39, which means it’s too late to bring that still living person to justice? Can you imagine how devastated you would be when you were told that because it had been more than 40 years ago, there’s NOTHING you could do? My aunt faced this exact scenario in the early 90s. My great aunt, who was on her deathbed, told my aunt exactly what had happened all those years ago. My aunt took her own life 5 years later at age 47. I was in kindergarten at the time and didn’t fully comprehend everything until much later in life. Rape is rape, whether it was an hour ago or 80 years ago. It shouldn’t matter if you were 24 months old or 90 years old when it happened. Let these people have their day in court to face their literal demon and let them know society hasn’t abandoned them on some BS technicality.

I was sexually assaulted at 16 so I know the pain she feels. I said that being raped is like being murdered but you are life alive.

I feel so sorry for her and I understand a large measure of her pain. I was sexually abused for my entire childhood, even as a teenager. I couldn’t escape. I lived in fear. Not just for myself, but for my little brothers. I was told by these two neighbors that if I didn’t do exactly as they said and if I told, they would hurt my brothers. I loved my brothers with all of my heart. I couldn’t risk them being hurt, so I remained silent until the day I left home for college. I’ve attempted to write the story of my life. Not just the bad, but the good and joyful times that I did have with my wonderful brothers. I’ve gotten several chapters written, but sometimes when I’m writing it is as if I’m telling the story of another little girl . I want to grab her, hold her, and tell her that I’ve come to make it all better, then I realize that I am the little girl. I really want to write my story, but I’d like to find someone who can help me write about those dark times. It would help relieve some of the awful anxiety that floods my soul. My name is Delilah and I have a story to share.

Thank you mcnamara on the work you committed to in finding this man. She was an author, dedicated to finding him. She died before he was found. I hope she sees these family impact statements and has a degree of comfort knowing she helped find them justice
