To start off, I love this pattern and can't wait to make it. However, I do have a question. You call for double sided adhesive interfacing. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see where you are ironing it to the fabric If that is the case, I'm not understanding, why the adhesive?
@CandyTomato Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if I understood your question correctly. First, the double-sided adhesive interfacing is sewn along with the lining, and then the entire lining is ironed, making it adhere well. There are two main reasons for using adhesive interfacing. Firstly, it's quite challenging to hand sew all the way to the lining, so it adds a bit of convenience. Secondly, attaching the lining with double-sided adhesive interfacing helps maintain the fabric's shape. You might understand this better once you've tried it yourself. My video demonstrates a fusion quilt that adds a bit of convenience to traditional hand quilting. I hope this is helpful.

I love to watch your videos. I would love to know sewing by hand do the items last as long as using a sewing machine? I would love to do quite a few projects by hand but was scared it would not hold up to a lot of use. And do you have some videos showing the sewing by hand close up? Thank you for sharing your work with us.
@CandyTomato3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Hand-sewn products also last a long time. Bags and pouches are also laundered. You just need to hand wash and sew a little. It takes a long time to work, but it is like doing it with a machine. I sometimes sew in close-up, but there are probably no close-up videos of all sewing.

@CandyTomato3 ай бұрын
Hello. This is for your reference. If you have smaller pieces of 2-sided interfacing, you can overlap them without any gaps. Since it melts and adheres when ironed, it doesn’t need to be a single continuous piece. If you watch the video slowly, the ingredients are displayed on the screen. Korean and English. Opaque white is Single sided fusible cotton batting. There is adhesive on one side. Transparent white is (Double-sided fusible woven interfacing). Both types attach the fabric by ironing. We recommend that you do a Google search on how to attach it.

@CandyTomato2 жыл бұрын
All of my patterns are provided as patterns only, without written instructions. So I'm asking you to watch the video first before purchasing a pattern. All product descriptions include that only video links and patterns are provided. If you have a question about what is difficult, you can answer it. Are you having a lot of work?
@christinechapman27612 жыл бұрын
@@CandyTomato I've watched the video countless times. I don't understand when you make the large circle that goes under the bands, you wave your hand around the top and the centre why? I've made that part. I've partly made the large base of tree but mine looks a lot smaller. Written instructions would be better especially if seam allowance was included. Do I add the seam allowance to all sides? Is there away that you could machine the sides together?
@CandyTomato2 жыл бұрын
Waving your hand in a circle means that you need to sew to fix the folded support as shown in the next video. Basting is removed later. Due to the small size of the paper, the seam allowance could not be added separately. This is because we need to draw 3 small pieces in a row and then add the seams. The pattern is a one-sided adhesive cotton cutting pattern (marked at the top of the pattern). Please draw the seam allowance of the fabric by adding as many dimensions as you normally use.

I recommend previewing my video before purchasing a pattern. Because I only provide patterns. And since there are no subtitles in the video, I am asking that only those who can understand my video will purchase it. If you have difficulty understanding the video, we recommend that you do not purchase the pattern.
@pearlleonardbouchard2753Ай бұрын
Too bad you don’t have better instructions with the pattern your selling on Etsy with no instructions except what your showing currently - on you tube. not even sure as to what pattern on Etsy is???? - no clue as to what your doing except music and finger pointing and as to what is included with what your selling - be more explicit. This is not the greatest tutorial .
@CandyTomatoАй бұрын
Thank you for your feedback. The patterns sold on Etsy only include the basic material templates. That’s why I recommend that customers watch the video before purchasing the pattern. If you find it difficult to understand the video, it could be hard to complete the project, and I don't want that to happen. The video includes Google-translated subtitles, which have been added for those who may find it challenging to follow the video alone. Please try watching with the subtitles turned on.
@barrylowe38022 жыл бұрын
I cannot dislike this enough!!! Written directions are horrible and the video is just as bad!!! Please explain why 2 types of fusion is needed and how to adhere the double sided without ruining the ironing board cover.
@CandyTomato2 жыл бұрын
Not everyone will be able to like my video. I understand to a certain extent. I don't use double-sided glue. All materials should be used in the appropriate circumstances. The reason for using two interfaces is to maintain the shape of the tree. If you use only the cross section, it can be different from the picture. Using a double-sided adhesive interface is not recommended for this operation.
@CandyTomato2 жыл бұрын
Can you tell me where you bought the pattern?
@joycecason1712 жыл бұрын
@@CandyTomato I love the tree but having trouble with this step also. Do you iron it only after they are sewed together and turned inside out? You see that is why we need written instructions or subtitles on the video.
@mrscake16872 жыл бұрын
You iron the first thick single sided interfacing on first. Then you lay out the other fabric and the double-sided interfacing as in the video - this is just stitched together. You snip the edges and turn it all inside out and finish the opening THEN you iron it. This will "glue" the insides of the thick single-sided interfacing to the second lot of outer fabric, so everything will be nice and crisp and stuck together and hold its shape. Hope this helps.
@mrscake16872 жыл бұрын
This is the best video - other companies have stolen Candy Tomato's designs and used her video, but only a cut down version of it, and that makes even less sense. Please only buy the pattern and watch this video, not any stolen copies. Thank you
