I loved your review and the way you talked about how you have to think differently, based on which bag you used. I have been temped by the Synapse bags but see how deversified a bucket bag can be thanks to your video.

This is the type of video I have been looking for! Thank you so much.

Very helpful comparison and love the emphasis on different packing styles. Would love to see the bags on you to get an idea of the look of them on someone of a smaller frame, like myself :)

Thanks for the nice review! Helped me a lot getting a feel for the capacity of the Synapse 19. I must comment on one thing though: saying you'd rather buy disposable plastic bottles during a trip than use a proper reusable water bottle, but then proceeding to say you have a lot of space left in the _waterbottle pocket_ (13:30) kind of made me chuckle. I mean this in a light hearted way, no judgement. ;-)

Excellent video. Where did you find the zipper pulls on the synapse... Love the look.
Your video helped me finally make a choice on which color and bag to go with! You really highlighted how much space it has. I have to ask, what brand is that packing cube? Thank you!

Hi, glad it was helpful! The packing cube is the small packing cube from Muji: www.muji.us/store/gusset-case-s-black-4550002868918.html

Thank you for your great reviews, I'm learning a lot. One small nitpick: I have to turn up the sound all the way to hear you. Could you maybe normalize or compress the sound of your videos a little? That would help a great deal I think.

Sorry about the sound issue, and thanks for letting me know! Going forward, it is definitely something that I will try to address!

I found this comparison video to be very helpful. I was wondering if you could give me the approximate dimensions of your packing cube (when filled). I plan on getting the synapse 25 for school and it would need to fit a stack of notebooks with the approximate dimensions of 12" tall by 10" wide by 4" deep. That would be the bulk of what I carry as everything else would go into the front pockets and I personally love it when everything has its own place. I know that the synapse 19 is smaller than the synapse 25, but based off of the one you have, do you think I would be able to fit my school supplies? Thanks in advance!

Hey there! The packing cubes are the Small Muji cubes, and they are approximately 8x10x4 inches, and I can fit two in the Synapse 19, so I think you would be fine.

The Synapse would be almost a perfect bag if the straps were better, beefier, more padded.

The Tom Bihn is definitely a higher quality bag than the Kanken, so the fading doesn't surprise me. I bought my Synapse used, so it didn't come with the sternum or hip strap, so I didn't really have those to compare, but I can imagine that really changing the way the bag carries. Thanks for the comment!
