Yeah I was with him theoretically, that some teams we like pre season would struggle, but he picked the school returning almost everyone important to that previous success?? It’s like he picked them out of a hat 😂 love him but he has to hear it all year idgaf

But ISU returned its top scorers and added better bigs in portal, yet that was the team he picked to underperform and rank outside top20 preseason? They’re a 1 seed and possibly best team in country (at least Big12)

That's how AP voters vote? They decide that because it is likely that at least one team out of 20 is going to underperform, they're going to randomly pick a particular team and put them low? Doing that does not make your rankings more likely to be accurate; it actually makes them less likely to be accurate. Let's assume exactly one team is destined to underperform. By randomly ranking one team lower, there's now a 19/20 chance that 2 teams are misranked instead of 1, and only a 1/20 chance that 0 teams are misranked instead of 1.

I would contest that Iowa is poorly coached. McCaffrey gets a lot out of those white farm boys. Unfortunately it's all about Fran and not about the team. THAT is what stinks in Iowa City.
