Brilliant and nostalgic, didnt recognise some places, and drove on them roads for decades daily,a few places changed so much, especially roundabout up to airedale and King George club, houses facing. Great videos, thank you.

No speedbumps, traffic calming chicanes and hardly any traffic lights - what a pleasure it was to drive in those days. I love your videos mate - I wish I could chose the roads to turn down though! :)

Along with a lot more parked cars on the streets now. And now modern cars are wider than the old ones. So leading to more single file roads now.

Glad you took time to take all these videos years ago, it's surprising to see all the changes that have been made in & around Cas 👍

It`s a shame video cameras were not readily available in the late 70`s, & early 80`s. When the buildings were demolished & road widening on Church Street, Aire Street, & Bridge Street, were on. They were the major changes in Cas` then. And there does`nt seem to be a lot of photos around of that time. Just the old ones up to around the 1960`s. I did the first ones in 1984. When the current layout was then only a few years old.

@@251hanomag .. That's true, plus I suppose we never realised we would be filming local history that would be watched by 1000's in future years !

Just like when you watch old Victorian & Edwardian movie, street scenes. Of all the people, workers, horses, dogs, etc, going about their normal day And soon to be facing the two World Wars. The modern day commentator will say something along the lines of "all the people you see here, are now dead".

I'm from Teesside so I don't know this area specifically but it's very interesting to see how essentially everything looks identical to how it would now minus the cars.

Rover 213 at 10 mins. Forgot those even existed, look so modern compared to mk3 Cortina seen earlier. Forget that these would all have been on the road at the same time.

Good grief. A Yamaha Passola. Once rode one of them from Blackpill to Townhill (in Swansea) and back. Made me proper frit 'cos I was used to a 125 Honda.
