I was nine at the time. Good to see Walkington's store again; at the end of Redhill Drive. My grandma and grandad lived opposite the shop at 122 Queens Park Drive. I spent many a weekend there. Memories. I remember them throwing the tiny loaves from the float. I didn't manage to grab one. I'm 61 years and 200 miles away now. Seems like forever.

I was 10 at the time and on the scouts from around the world float.

I remember this vividly. We were stood near the bottom of Holywell Lane and I remember the people on what was probably the Allison’s Flour Mill float throwing bread rolls to the crowd. I reckon we missed being on this footage by only a few yards!

I was in this parade aged 12, I was on the Castleford Boys Modern School float.
